He only twisted his ankle, though - not that serious an injury.

Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey optimistic ankle injury won't keep him out of Manchester City showdown

Aaron Ramsey expects to be fit for Arsenal’s huge clash with champions Manchester City this weekend.

Ramsey twisted his ankle on a 3G plastic pitch when Wales beat Andorra 2-1 on Tuesday night and was subbed late on, but is desperate to be involved in the Saturday lunchtime fixture at the Emirates.

“I just rolled the ankle late on. I could feel it, but hopefully it will be nothing,” said the Gunners’ goal-scoring midfielder.

“I hope I’ll be available for Saturday. Manchester City at home, those are the games you want to play in so hopefully it won’t be a problem.

“The pitch was very hard and I hope that’s the last time I play on a plastic pitch.”

Ramsey's international teammate Gareth Bale also savaged the artificial surface after scoring both goals to save Wales from embarrassment against the tiny nation sandwiched between Spain and France who had lost 43 games in a row before Tuesday.

“It was, by far, the worst pitch I have ever played on,” said the Real Madrid superstar. “I can’t describe how bad, bobbly and hard the pitch was to deal with."

The way he was acting on the floor, it was like he snapped his ankle

That's football I suppose. I'm glad he is ok though!

Also, how the hell did the pitch pass the inspection? - Absolutely shoddy choice to allow the game to stand in Andorra
