If we got back to the Premiership and eventually made it up high enough to qualify for European football, would that make you happy?
I've kind of always been on the fence about the european football championships, thinking the domestic league to be more important, but to be honest that's probably an issue of perspective as I don't support a European qualifying team. I guess it would be pretty cool to play against huge clubs and see Cardiff play abroad

REAL fans want non league football. If you don't you're just a newbie fan that jumped on the glory bandwagon.

I saw quite a bit of European football with City back in the day.
I would love to see it back. European games under floodlight - would be brilliant. What else do you strive for if your established in the Prem?

Remember the European nights when we used to win the Welsh Cup, and they were great. If the chance came again, then I would love it. Might affect league form, though.
But we're some way away from European football just now!

I'm 18 and I'm blessed for the times I've had as a City fan, never had it so good really. Numerous cup finals and a promotion. Only thing that's missing is a European tour, would love to win a cup though rather than just be finalists to qualify for Europe.

I'd like us back in Europe would be great

Several years too late for the Liege days. But Cardiff in Europe and Wales in a major tournament are my dreams (besides 2 busty blonde twins) We are more likely to get into Europe by winning a cup and have come very close. I'm hoping the Wales dream will be a reality in a couple of years ........

yeah I'd love it if Cardiff could be back in europe, i was only a kid last time we were in europe, admira wacker was possibly last game i saw around 93 season. After being at the super cup final couple weeks ago, I was left with the feeling of wanting to see Cardiff in Europe again and playing the likes of Madrid & co. Thinking about it now, hell of a missed opportunity not beating Liverpool two years ago and Pompey as well in FA cup, oh well one day.

The European nights at Ninian Park always seemed something special. One of the games that sticks in my mind was against F C Nantes who were a useful French side. Won 5-1 and I think we won the away leg as well. Also remember us beating some Norwegian team 7 or 8 nil in Norway.

I want trips to Barnet on a Tuesday night and Greasy Chinese takeaway's on the way home from Nuneaton Listening to the late Kick off in the premier league.
Europa league Football is over rated and exhausting for a club, you lose focus on the league if you go far and you can't fully comitt to either it ends up leaving you flat the following year

I remember that game against Nantes as well and when they scored in the first minute everyone thought "Hello" this is going to be difficult and then we scored 2 goals in a minute and never looked back after that. We won the 2nd leg as well and that set up the quarter final against Real Madrid.
Thing is back then it was a straight knockout with only "Cup" winners taking part so there were only a maximum of 5 rounds I think so this Europa League is a completely different beast, but still love to see us take part in it.
Brilliant memories of european games under the floodnights at Ninian Park.

I think the cup we were used to competing in was superior to todays Europa competition. The European Cup was always the main one, then the Cup Winners Cup which was also considered a big one to win, and then the Fairs Cup which I think was closer to todays Europa League.

Sounds like you all have some great memories

I have only been following Cardiff since I was 11 (now 21), so obviously don't have any memory of European football for them haha. Think it'd be really cool though

It would be great to be in the Champions league

If Cardiff City FC aspire to European football, that's fine as long as it is earned by steadily climbing the leagues and then being ready to absorb the punishment of league and European games. We are a long way off at the moment in my opinion. We need to establish ourselves as a viable PL side first or it will be farcical and possible very damaging.
Learn to walk before you run I say. A good cup run is always great but if it means we are a Championship side in Europe, I'm against it.
To the previous poster who said REAL fans etc etc:
One off cup wins and qualifying for Europe as a result are the definition of glory hunting!!
I'm happy with a club that is making progress and doing things properly.
C'mon Bluebirds!

That's what I mean in reality - I do consider myself a
real fan, but I was just never enticed particularly by the idea of European football, having seen what it can do to other clubs. I think you're right (and that's what I'd hope will happen, if it does) that the best approach is slow and steady. Just like promotion to the premiership, you have to make sure your team is ready first!
