Is it me or has international football lost its appeal? I've watched most of the games this week and there seems to be a lethargic approach from every team. What does anyone else think?

I was excited for this game tbh until I seen the team and then remembered we had coleman
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:11 pm
Makes me miss real football I guess.
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:16 pm
Yes i enjoy it, but when you have a manager like Coleman who is stealing a living as a football manager then it does ruin it a bit!
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:41 pm
I enjoy it if there is something to play for, So it's normally for about 2 matches a year
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:42 pm
I love it but that was shit tonight

I have absolutely no interest in international football whatsoever.
Hate the way it breaks up the beginning of the season and poses a real risk of injury to players who will be important to us during the season.
All the travelling the players do to play internationals can only detract from their ability to be at their best for Cardiff City.
For me it's club over country every time.

I must admit that having world class players like Bale and Ramsey has made it more exciting, we actually have a chance of qualifying this time round.
Tue Sep 09, 2014 11:20 pm
I enjoy it.
Always great to go and watch your country play. The pride I will have, an I'm sure many others will, if we qualify for France will be immense.
It's always a bit slow when qualification campaigns begin, but teams step it up a gear after the first round of matches. Don't forget the season has only just started too, and players are trying to find 100% sharpness.

I have often wondered over the last few years do we really need it I have watched Watched Wales many times over the years but if they done away with it I don't think I would miss it

Totally agree with this,f**k the internationals especially friendlies

Half the time club managers are always mourning that they got to let players go for meaning less friendliest and because we have a lot of foreign players in the British football they travell back to there countries which are on the other side of the world the African nations cup always have a mass exodus of players in this country who go back to there countries to play in it

Personally, I'm always up for international football. Love watching/going to see Wales.

Club over country any day but I do enjoy the odd international. Atmosphere at the games is shite these days as no one bothers to turn up, but still get passionate about watching the games. Best game of this round that I watched was Germany Scotland, they gave a good account of themselves and think they have a good chance of qualifying. Better so than wales do.

Don't really give a toss for internationals really
Thu Sep 11, 2014 7:02 pm
I enjoy it.break from the norm, especially if you're with good boys .last 3 aways have brilliant (Scotland, belgium and Andorra) making lots of new mates from north wales.

from me,

Don't be embarrassed by it, fella. Each to their own

I came home from Barcelona/Andorra late last night and I had a great time. I wouldn't be able to go to some of the places I've gone to if it wasn't for international football and it's the only time fans from Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Wrexham, Chester etc can unite together, go out together and support their country. International football does a lot for me and I will continue looking forward to visiting many more different places watching my country!

Wales have the amazing Gareth Bale plus one of the best players in the Prem (Aaron Ramsey) plus a scattering of reasonably talented Prem players, but if they were playing out my back garden I'd draw the curtains. The Andorra match was just another example of good players pulling on the Welsh shirt and playing Sunday League standard.
I'm not a betting man but if I was I wouldn't waste my hard earned betting on Wales qualifying from this group yet again, embarrassing comes to mind when I think of a combination of football and Wales.

International football is above all else. I see club football as a drafting pool for international football.
It's easy to be grumpy about it though if your country doesn't perform. Golden years of the 90s will keep me going until I keel over, or a better generation comes through. But I will always support my country, and no club can ever match it.

Absolutely love International football! Getting to travel the world whilst watching football is amazing! Met some amazing lads from different clubs and all get on well with each other! The atmosphere is electric every game away and even home games with our lot. Country and Club for me, But if I have to choose to let one go that would be club football. Amazing time at Andorra away! Bring on the 2 home games then the big one Belgium away in November! Cymru!

When I was younger I really enjoyed going to watch Wales especially the away games but like club football the atmosphere has been totally knocked out of it. The last one I went too people were so bored that they were making paper aeroplanes!!!

Uh, really?

We have a far easier group, I'd say.

You sure you weren't at an England game? I recall paper aeroplanes were quite popular at one of their pre-World Cup friendlies at Wembley a few months ago!

They ran Germany close and should be able to get results against Ireland Georgia and Gibraltar. Just need to pick a point or two off Poland and Germany. We think our group is easy but typical Wales will lose some of the easy games...

I go thru phases of being really into it and then phases where I can't be arsed. The start of qualifiers I'm all up for it but it soon wears off lol. I so want to go to France its our best chance for ages.

They did, but they still lost. They'll breeze past Gibraltar, but the Ireland and Georgia games are tricky. Ireland because they're a home nation (of sorts), and Georgia because they're Eastern European. And Eastern European sides are dodgy!
