People attending NATO dinner have been slagging it off

Thu Sep 04, 2014 11:28 pm

People attending tonight's NATO events are slagging it off big time. Food was shit and had to wait around in a car park for 2 hours because the transport wasn't arranged properly and are calling it the worst run summit ever!!! Can always relay on us to f**k it up in the end :(

@samgadjones: A few 100 of the people who most influence how @NATO is seen in the western world. In a carpark. Waiting for hours http://t.co/38Y1dUia0U

@jameschappers: 100s of foreign journos, already mocking summit grub, unable to leave site for 2 hrs as no buses turn up. Riot brewing. Brits stoic #NATO

@patrickwintour: Hundreds of foreign reporters left stranded in Nato summit site car park for 2 hours. Worst run summit ever attended. Well done Dave.

YOU CAN ALWAYS RELY ON ADAM BROWN TO HIGHLIGHT THE NEGATIVES (if there truly were any of any real significance) OF ANYTHING CARDIFF AND/OR WALES!

Majority of Press/Media declaring the Summit as a very positive one for Newport/Cardiff/Wales

Disappointed you weren't invited, were you Adam????

President Barack Obama tells guests attending a reception at the Nato Wales summit that he will encourage people in the United States to visit Wales.

He praised the country's "extraordinary beauty, wonderful people and great hospitality".

Mr Obama was speaking at an event hosted by the Prince of Wales at the Celtic Manor Resort to thank local people involved in organising the summit.

Think I`ll agree with Obama on this 0ne :sleepy2:

Wow.

Not like the press, on a nice little jolly, to think they are the centre of the universe.

Ulterior motive reporting by sulky hacks and message board resident.

Trending? What a joke. 10 tweets 5 of which are from the same two people and two are about the content of the Summit.

I make that about 4 tweets about being locked in until the leaders are finished.

Nothing story from unimportant people.

Heard Obama say how beautiful Wales is, but didn't he only see about 10 miles of it ?
Thought he landed at Fairford (Gloucestershire) and had a helicopter ride to the Celtic Manor.

Hope these journalists report on the next City away game, as being locked in places with no food or drink is the normal following the mighty BLUEBIRDS :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The lights went out during his speech to tell him to shut up, as they thought he was going to go on all night. :laughing6:

Hilarious. Media reporting on media not being able to arrange their own friggin travel.

Any reporter worth his salt would have a plan in place for such issues otherwise they miss the interviews and photo opportunities.

Hundreds waiting an hour. Not quite the end of the world is it.

Anyone important got where they had to be.

Nice bit of Clogau gold but where is the Welsh Lovespoons, surely a prerequisite from a trip to Wales.

Good moaning wankers, as an old boss told a moaner in work, don't moan, because 50% of the people you moan too couldn't give a feck and the other 50% are glad you are having a bad time ..........

Lets look at the positives is it..... Far outway the negatives...

Really only about 4 non important journalists out of 1000's of press and personel'.

Most of the feedback I've seen and read has been positive, with Obama in particular, genuinely taken aback by the welsh hospitality , only negative feedback I've seen is the tweets you've posted in this thread. All in all I'd say its been a great occasion for wales. It certainly got everyone talking about Wales which is quite a rare thing compared to our celtic cousins. Its been a real eye opener and I hope we now get to host other major events... Political, sporting, whatever, it puts our little country in the spotlight and that can only be a good thing IMO. The only thing that didn't live up to expectations were the protests lol

At least the UK & US managed to sell some military vehicles etc to the other nations.

Wicked sales pitch.

Did these alleged journalists actually pay for the meal, or the transport?

My guess: NOT ON YOUR NELLIE DUFF!

The media are just there to report. They could have been in Syria in real danger. Instead they were in a highly secure compound and had grub. Only a spoilt child complains about a free meal and a free taxi!

As a previous poster pointed out, we are Celtic, yet Americans know all about Scotland and Ireland while many are totally oblivious about a nation with a living ancient language and culture.

You may disagree with NATO and the summit, but it certainly gave our tiny but proud country some much-needed positive publicity.

Cymru am Byth!!

Who gives a f**k about the press? As long as the decision makers get the jobs done that's all that matters.
