Trust to meet City Chairman 16 September

Thu Sep 04, 2014 4:35 pm

CCST meeting with the club.

The Trust is meeting the club Chairman, Mehmet Dalman and his team before the Middlesbrough game on Tuesday 16 September. The meeting will allow us to introduce the new General Manager, Ken Choo, to the work of the Trust.

It is also our chance to put your questions directly to the club. Among other things, we will be asking when Mr Tan will convert the debt owed to him into shares, why they won't pay all staff the Living Wage and of course when we will return to playing in blue.

If you have any specific questions you want answered then please send them to help@ccst1927.org

Some people at the club are paid the minimum wage £6.31 an hour...what the trust are asking our club to do is to introduce a "living wage" instead...its not a legal requirement basically its a moral requirement and would mean the lowest paid employees at the club would get £7.65 a hour instead of the legal minimum wage.
There are quite a few organisations and businesses that do pay the living wage instead of minimum wage.

Not sure why this is anything to do with the Trust.
Are the staff members of the Trust? Doubtful
Will the service they provide improve? Doubtful
Will prices increase for customers (fans)? Probably
If the club are abiding by the law then that is ok especially as most of the staff on match day are part time and students.

Part of the Trust`s brief is to help improve the image of the club in the local community and the wider football community.

A large proportion of the club`s employees on minimum wage rather than the living wage live in the local community.

Compared to what is spent in other areas , to increase pay for those on minimum wage to a living wage would not cost the club a great deal (Simon Lim was going to do an accurate calculation but I am not sure if he did before he was sacked).

For the club to take the lead in this matter voluntarily and give the extra pay would show it in a great light locally and also be an exemplar for the wider football community.

WTF !!! Living wage

Whats that got to do with anything.....

How many people do the club directly employ ?

How many of them are on min wage- probanly a handful.

Wonder why its taken so long for the club to directly talk to the trust
