The centre-back says the club owner made him feel wanted
Mark Hudson says Huddersfield Town’s managerial situation was not an issue as he firmed up his deadline-day move from Cardiff City.
The experienced centre-back is as eager as the fans to find out the new man at the helm, with the club closing in on Mark Robins’ replacement.
But he says he has full trust in owner Dean Hoyle, whose selling powers were key to getting the 32-year-old to agree a two-year contract.
“I had a few options, but this one really appealed to me,” said the two-time Championship promotion winner.
“I know it’s been a tough start to the season for the club, but there is so much potential and ambition here.
“When Cardiff told me I could speak to other clubs, I had a couple of conversations with the owner here.
“He told me about the vision for going forward and basically made me feel wanted, which was great to hear.
“He also told me the managerial situation is being addressed, and to be honest, it wasn’t a concern for me in coming here.
“As a professional footballer, you play for your manager, and that’s what I’ll be doing, whoever comes in.”
Hudson’s transfer ends Town’s long search for a seasoned centre-back and ends his five-year stint with the Welsh club.
“I had a great time there, and being captain of the side which won promotion to the Premier League (in 2013) was fantastic,” added the former Fulham, Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic player.
“But things change, and it’s time for me to move on and get back to playing regular football.
“I played against Huddersfield last month, so I know there are some very good lads in this squad.
“I know it’s not been the best of starts to the season, but I also know the lads have been playing well without getting the right results.
“This is a chance for me to do my bit to help change things, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.
“It’s a new start and I can’t wait to get cracking.”

No, I don't think they did. One left as the other arrived.

Feel sorry for Hudson obviously being dropped effected him. He no longer has ambition he just wants the simple life with a small club.
we done that to him.
He has the mindset and attitude of a true world class professional if he had a bit more raw natural ability he could of been a top top premier league defender.
Many players of his ability would not achieve the same as he had

We were the only club to have paid a fee for Mark Hudson - in all the years he has been a professional footballer
Good Luck to him - Thanks for that Championship season - A True Leader
