After just two points from the opening five games, the Directors of Carlisle United have announced the sacking of manager Graham Kavanagh, the Official Club Website confirm.

Carlisle have sacked their manager after a very poor start to life in League Two.
The former Carlisle midfielder was appointed first team manager of the Cumbrians in September 2013 after a successful caretaker spell, when the club sat 22nd in the table at the time in League One, but finished the 2013/14 campaign in the same position, resulting in relegation to League Two.
The board felt as though the Blues were heading in the same direction this season, and that the 5-0 thrashing to Cambridge United was the final nail in the coffin for the 40-year-old.
Carlisle have confirmed that they have started their search for a replacement, but in the interim period club captain, Paul Thirwell and goalkeeping coach, Tony Caig, have agreed to take the training sessions until a new manager has been appointed.

I'd love Kav back as some sort of coach. I know it's not going to happen though
