4 wins, 2 draws and 1 lose from 7..

Sat Aug 30, 2014 5:16 pm

5 of them games been away that's not a bad record!

Our one defeat was to wolves who have beat Norwich, Blackburn, Fulham and us!

It's not a bad start and with 4 out of 6 games at home I think we will show our real strengths in September!

Let's stay positive! :ayatollah:

Result wise you're right, we've got decent results so far.

The problem though seems to be the performances. We never really look in control, which is worrying considering the squad we posses.

If you continue this positivity on here you'll be getting a ban :laughing5: .

Your right, point away and hopefully three at home. Still in cup and hopefully team will gel.

Noone will make a difference, takes a month or so for new team to bond

Very good results under the circumstances.

We had the hardest opening fixtures in the league in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to Ole finding the right balance in midfield.

I'm looking forward to when we get some easier fixtures.

I'm looking forward to when we pick teams off when the fixtures get more congested and other squads pick up injuries that they can't handle.

Why isit some of the posters who are moaning about the performances but still picking up points are the same people who defended the performances under malky saying that's how to get out of the championship getting points from ugly performances

Common sense

We should have had a point set Wolves too, the defender sent the ball the worm way complete freak goal .......

If it wasn't for that freak goal, after a very hard start on paper (you watch Fulham pick back up from now), we would have perfect promotion form, wining home games and drawing away :ayatollah:

Couldn't care how we play as long as we get points

I think the players we've got in midfield are better suited to a five. This gives Ole a problem, because unless he goes to a back three, allowing him to play two strikers (and I don't think he''ll do that) it means that he can only play one striker...and with 5 good strikers on our books there is no way that he can keep them all happy. Some will never play. :bluescarf:

In the league though, 2 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss. Not too bad but not that good either.

Performances dreadful though.

My thoughts as well. As we're getting over run in midfield & not having the possession we need to build the attacks a 5 man midfield would help no end. The problem as you say is too many strikers for this system.
I would like to see Daehli in a no.10 role though.

Last season, after good performances, the refrain on this board was more like "the performance doesn´t count for shit, the only thing that matters, is the score board at the end". Just reminding you :)

46 % possession today is not that bad, and second half we were decent. The problem (especially first half), was maybe just as much the strikers and lack of good runs for the midfielders to set them up. Would have to watch the match again, though, to really conclude on this.

I remember when getting an away draw felt like a win with Cardiff, now the fans want the manager sacked.

Pathetic.

Didn't see the game yesterday just going on our games in general of never looking comfortable & controlling the midfield. Looking more like a bunch of strangers.

You say 'the fans want the manager sacked' as though they all do. That's ridiculous as I believe they are only a small minority.
I'm not too keen in OGS but certainly don't want him sacked.

Ole is a product of the Fergie academy. Admittedly his footballing offspring so far have been mediocre.
United under fergie rarely started all guns blazing and gradually gained momentum utalising squad rotation to blow teams away in the second half of the season. I think this team is massively under cooked with the only player showing freshness and energy being Adeyemi who didn't do the city stroll around Austria.

We always start like scalded cats and die by christmas. The 11/12 season was living proof. We win 0-1 at West ham first game of the season, lose 0-2 in late early spring and get hammered 5-0 in the playoffs. Big squad vrs small squad.......
