Magnus Eikrem

What does he even do? It seems like he just comes on for the occasional 15 minutes every now and then and just runs around, passes it sideways a few times and the full time whistle goes :|

I literally cant think of one time he has done anything to help the team...

Always in the squad and always seems to come on as a sub.

Why? Can someone please explain exactly what contribution he makes to the team?

Yet Ole always picks him. And Gunnarsson is another one.

The two of them are vying for the coveted position of "Ole's son", in much the same way as Malky used to favour his own son, Don Cowie.

What does Ole see in Eikrem that is not immediately apparent to many of us?

He took a decent corner vs Man City once.

If a player isn't ruling the league after 7months he simply has to be ditched via being called the manager's son.

Cardiff fans, terrible.

Corner assist vs. Man City away in his first game for Cardiff.
The critical long pass which created the first goal against Coventry.
Assist against Wolfsburg.
Easily the best midfielder on the pitch against Aston Villa last season, even if he only got 30 minutes.

Like all playmaking central midfielders, it's hard to come off the bench and make an impact, especially for only 8 minutes.

He needs to start. His passing and creativity is better than Whittingham's, and that was the foremost biggest problem of the team today.

Probably the biggest reason he hasn't played much yet is that he's still in hard physical training to get stronger. He's not used to super physical leagues, and he's used to playing in a 5-man midfield too, where his strength wasn't an issue.

Thanks for clearing that up Ole.

I'd start him too. He has a good eye for a pass and will get stuck in more than Whittingham. Give the boy a proper chance and I think people will be surprised.

Disagree. Think he's poor. Can't stay on his feet. Slips all the time. Dwindled on the ball. Just my opinion, but not the answer to our problems

Surprised yesterday that Ralls is ahead of him in the pecking order.

An Ole signing so I thought he would get game time because he knows and understands the system and tempo....

Don't think anyone knows the system and tempo to be honest. The players look lost half the time, maybe Ole needs a stronger character around him to get the players to fit

I once met a whole group of supporters from Norway and every one of them had a cardiff shirt on with Eikrem's name on the back. When I asked them why not Daelhi they all laughed claiming that once he had some game time we'd all be saying how good he is.

Could be they know better than us.

I heard the exact same argument about Stephen mcphail, unless a player makes 40 yard passes or attempts to run pass an opposing player with the ball.. They do nothing ?

But I doubt they know better than Ole..hehe. Eikrem could maybe grow into the first team if given play time, but no one else is given that luxury. He has to take his chances and make an impact when he´s on there, just like everybody else. No favors from Ole here.

Probably agree with you for the first time.
I'm far from convinced he's good enough to be a main stay in the first team although it's difficult for him or anyone else to prove themselves unless they have a run of games.
I think Ralls is not far off Eikrem but with the potential of becoming far better.
