How many years of red until it becomes the norm?

Sat Aug 30, 2014 10:06 am

How many years of red do you think will need to pass before any return to blue would seem like another rebrand and have another split in the fanbase? The longer this goes on the worse its getting as it will become harder and harder to change back. There are certainly a % of our fanbase that only know red! How scary is that?? How many new fans a year do you think we get? If it becomes a situation where maybe 50% (no idea how many years this would take) of our fans have only seen us and only know us in red then changing us to blue is going to be met with the same arguments surely?

It is very worrying as the longer we stay Red,the more that will eventually accept it :bluescarf:

"a person at the club shop told " ... assume this is an ironic comment.

Anyway even if it is true, there will always be the RED away kit. Or the RED Welsh kit for them.

That's what they told me you only have to open your eyes around the stadium and the streets of Cardiff it see it's mainly kids wearing the red tops

Wez' comments make sense. Everyone who knows the blue finds it hard to buy the red, thats why you dont see many adults decked out in red. But the kids that have only known red will love the red just as much as when we loved the blue as kids. Unfortunately the kids are our future and they will be red at heart. This needs to change now before its too late.

Would have been worse had we stayed in the prem. At the moment the fans are dropping off.
IF/when we do go back, it will still be the minority who will be disappointed.
It will be many a year before the the pro reds outnumber the pro blue.
You only have to look around to know that. :bluescarf:

However they are also many kids who have been taught the history of the club and will refuse to wear red :ayatollah:

Agree, and older men and ladies over 65's, not many in the middle ..........

I think it would take another eight seasons to be accepted by the majority, and you would have a hard core of blue fans for another fifty years :bluescarf:

I'd say we'd need to spend 10 years in red before it just name our accepted colours amongst the fans and footballing community. So, another 7 seasons.
