Just seen this

tv2.no (Norwegian news)

Vegard Forren could move for Cardiff

TV2 have reason to believe that Forren is wanted in Cardiff and high up on Solskjaers wishlist.

"Molde is a selling club, and if the offer is good enough we will consider a sale, says Director Tarje Nordstrand Jacobsen"

"TV2s sources say the interest is the same as before, but time is running out"

This signing would worry me !

No experience at this level , only ever played in Norway with a couple of caps for his country .
Signed for Southampton for a rumoured £4 million and couldn't get anywhere near the first team before being dumped back in Norway .

I can't see how he would be any better than what we already have .

Story Reminds me of a defensive andreas cornelius

The same cornelius Newcastle are looking at?

Just because a player is poop for one club doesn't necessarily mean they aren't a decent player

I meant his background story is similar to cornelius . Played well at a lower level , had a lot bigger teams looking at him with rave reviews then when he finally gets his big move he flopped and was sent packing back to where he came from .

It is the players inexperience and ability that would worry me . The championship is a very tough league with some very very good strikers . They are much better than he will be facing in Norway and we don't really have time for him to adapt , if he does at all !

I've seen quite a bit of Vegard Forren, and think he was very unfortunate with the timing when he headed to Southampton. He was out of season and reports told he was very close to making it there.
He is capped 14 times with Norway, last as captain.

Forren got a superb left foot(passing and shot), he can hit a stamp from 60 yrds. He's a great duel player to have in both defense and attack(corners), his positioning is great. His achilles is his pace. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying he's Vincent Kompany class, but I think he is more than good enough for the championship.

Have a look at this gem:

If Molde was playing Cardiff, I´m not sure the outcome, to be honest. This season, the Norwegian teams didn´t have much luck in getting into the European competitions, but when you watch the best Norwegian teams playing the second/third best teams in Europe, you will find that they are quite competitive (teams like Herenveen, Basil, or teams from Polen, Turkey, Ukraine etc.).

I have the pleasure of being able to watch games both in the Championship and the Norwegian Tippeligaen (even the same day), and honestly I don´t get the impression that the level is so different. There are in fact some good players in the Norwegian league, and there was quite a few of them making the trip to Brazil this summer playing for countries like USA, Costa Rica, Ghana, Ivory Coast.

And no reason to compete with Cornelius, Forren is an experienced player and we won´t cost more than 2 mill at most.

If you asked we in January which players I would have liked Ole to bring from Molde (I include Eikrem in this, although we was playing for Heerenveen at that time), I would have ranked them as following:

Daehli
Forren
Eikrem
Berget

Berget was the only player I was sceptic about signing, but also he has proven (imo), that he´s not being far away from earning a place in the squad. He would be a regular starter in many of the other championship sites this season.
