Why do fans of no rivalry to United, refer to them as Manure?

Why not? One of the most disliked clubs in the country. (unless your a fan of course)

Liked them as a kid(not to my own doing, as I had no family members who supported City) but it's kind of cringey isn't it? Grown men referring to football clubs as immature names? I still cringe at 'Scumsea' etc

Manure and scumsea are fine by me.
