Looking at our squad, once everyone is fit and available, I really do believe we have the firepower to score the goals to succeed in this league.
The defence has been tightened up and are looking 100% better than they were in the latter stages of last season.
Brayford and Fabio look like they are going to have successful seasons based on early performances.
Hudson and Connolly look a good partnership but I don't think they will be the centre half pairing in just a couple of games time, the signing of Morrison makes him an absolute starter so one of Hudson and Connolly have been demoted. I believe we will see a new ball playing commanding centre half come into the club very soon.
Juan Cala is here too but it doesn't look like he is in Ole's first eleven plans.
Anthony Pilkington and Craig Noone will provide the much needed width, pace and creativity to take Ole's creative, forward passing and attack minded football to the level required to supply the opportunities for Kenwyne Jones and whoever the manager decides to play alongside him.
Pilkington showed he got defensive qualities to his game on Saturday at Wolves, tracking backing, winning tackles and setting up an attack.
But the biggest issue in our team is finding the right partnership in the centre of midfield.
Ole has started games with a middle two playing square of each other, he has changed it in play to become a diamond shape midfield but which two players are the best of what's available ?
Tom Adeyemi is a box to box player who is strong in the challenge, can hold off opponents and shield the ball well, I would think he is the one who will be given the most opportunities but who would partner him ?
Whitts is probably the obvious choice, his range of passing, his dead ball delivery and he has got goals in his locker.
But do Adeyemi and Whittingham compliment each other ?
I would like to see Adeyemi carry the ball forward through the middle driving the opposition defence on to the backfoot, Whittingham doesn't offer that, he is not that type of player.
Could Dikgacoi carry the role of ball carrier?
The little magician of Daehli playing the higher up the pitch behind the front two could be an option but would we then leave ourselves to open behind putting pressure on the defence.
Then we still have Gunnarrson, Burgstaller, Kimbo, Eikrem who will all want to stake a claim for a place in the team.
If Ole can find the right combination for the centre midfield then I believe we will see much improvement in the other areas of the pitch.
This is all based on Ole setting out as a 4-4-2 of course and to be honest I don't think there is an obvious choice for a centre midfield partnership.

I hope he does settle on a regular eleven Allan. I was a fan of DJ and like the idea of sticking and believing in what you think is your best eleven, constant swapping and changing has never been something I believe works but that's only my opinion.
The other side of the argument Allan is that this is Ole's team and he should already know his preferred choice especially the spine of the team where most managers in history build their team around.

I think he's building a team where chopping and changing won't an issue.
If he has indeed signed footballers who love the game as he said earlier in the summer and they can push towards a goal of promotion over personal glory I don't see it being an issue. Competition in almost every spot will keep players hungry and keep them competitive [of course it works well in a perfect world where there are no egos] but those people will not survive long in these conditions and will be found out pretty quick with their form imo.
I'm really looking forward to the Port Vale game as I think there are already a few spots for the taking with a dominating performance. Really excited to Kiko and Guerra link up and play (hopefully). Can see if they have a good game starting on Saturday.

think he knows spine of team and it will only be couple changes when needed to suit opposition but not defence only thing that needs to be left alone, as undersanding between defenders is paramount in any succesfull team

When everyone back from injury and in form, I would like to see a diamond with these players:
Dikgacoi holding
Noone and Pilkington on the wings
Daehli as a number 10.
Playing 4 4 2 with two holding midfielders and 2 "inside wings":
Dikgacoi and Adeyemi holding (with Eikrem and Whitts as alternatives)
Noone and Daehli on the wings (Burgstaller and Pilkington as alternatives)
In sum, I would make less use of Whitts (I really can´t see why he´s so highly rated). Also I have problems seeing why Gunnarsson is given so much time on the pitch.
This would be a very good site (playing a diamond)
----------------Marshall------------------
Brayford---Morrison---Connelly---Fabio
---------------Dikgacoi------------------
Noone.....................Pilkington

Can is only a part of a bigger problem. We don't press teams when we don't have the ball and can't keep it when we have it. The latter because our movement off the ball is poor. Of course pace helps but you don't need to be fast to find a yard of space and open yourself up as an option. We are just too static and when we get pressed the ball is lost.
On paper we have very good individuals but on the grass we don't seem to have a pattern to our play and certainly don't look like a team. Our individual players will see us through the easier games but come the top 6-8 teams and we'll be found out. Unless of course we improve greatly over the coming months.

I dont see Dæhlie as number 10 this year. He need to get some muscles to be able to cope with strong CB's. This year he will a a winger and then cut in from the side causing panic in the opponents defense. Just like Barca did with Messi the first 2 years he played the first team. He (messi) also needed to get some muscles before he could play ACM. As of now, Dæhlie will be playing on one of the wings

If he wants to play to the strength of the squad he should ditch 4-4-2.

I know it ain't a poplar view, but I do t rate Daehli as highly as some.
The team needs a strong CM otherwise it will always struggle.

Ole will be going with Adeyemi and Dikgacoi in the middle and his two centre backs will be Morrison and new centre back who will be announced this week, bit harsh on Connelly and Hudson but it's a squad game.
