It won't just be the fans who feel let down

Sun Aug 24, 2014 6:09 pm

Having read on social media and this site that the fans who supported Malky Mackay will now feel a bit stupid after his admission of sending racist texts to Ian Moody but I don't feel that is fair on the supporters who would have had no idea about anything of this sort going on behind the scenes at the club.

If the fans feel let down by Mackay think what others inside the club feel now that the truth is in the public domain, everyone will remember Steve Borley standing shoulder to shoulder with Mackay when they flew together for the game at Anfield against Liverpool when most expected that it would be Mackay's last game, there was even doubt if he would be the manager by the time the flight landed at John Lennon airport.

Earlier this year Mr Borley along with Alan Whitley accompanied Mackay to a fans event in Bridgend in a show of support for the sacked manager. So if you believe some of the fans should feel stupid, how do you think people like Mr Borley and others who were a lot closer to Mackay than any fan feel right now ?

I am totally hurt with the whole affair regarding Mslky and let down, but Steve Borley, I could not imagine what he is thinking as he was very close with Malky and sometimes with him 24/7 and has always stood by Malky through everything, they are very close.

I know it's difficult! But SB must be gutted by all the recent events?

Has Borley been quoted or tweeted anything since the appalling evidence has come to light?

Annis, I am sure that SB will listen to Malky and make his own mind up on the situation, if he is a true friend

The truth will out soon enough now the Fleet Street Bloodhounds are on to his (Malky's) scent, so SB will have some pretty hard decisions to make, according to what Malky tells him and what the papers say ;)

Don't envy either of them right now, but feel for SB after the amount of wool he now has to get cut away from his eyes!

I think there will be a number of fans showing no symphathy to Borley after his baiting of fans over the rebrand.
