REBRAND NEEDED DUE TO GLOBAL MEDIA COVERAGE

Sun Aug 24, 2014 11:13 am

Perhaps we need another rebrand?

Since the rebrand most of the media attention related to the club has been negative.

- Red V Blue
- Tan v Fans
- Tan v Malky

Now the text news is going global, just saw the CNN news brief, for someone who doesn't know much about Cardiff City, the immediate reaction is to associate the club with Malky's cmments.

My suggestion would be another rebrand, to a new badge and a new colour. Red is quite a fiery, passionate, angry colour. The dragon a fire breathing monster.

What about a calmer, cooling colour like BLUE!

What about a symbol that reflects freedom of speech and openness. Something that would be easily identifiable as a Global Brand.
Twitter use a good logo, a BLUEBIRD, maybe this would be a good alternative?

Good idea. Well thought out, but unfortunately too clever and thought out for our clubs marketing dept. They like the cheap and tacky look.

The current strategy is like Coca-Cola heavily marketing Coca Cola as the world's best soft drink in Asia, when Coca-Cola's own employees all drink Pepsi!

Surely after a while as the news spilt into the market it would damage the value of the brand in Asia.

No "maybe even as bad as......red". It must be your eyesite Dre, if its not your reading .

Surely any colour that isn't blue would be unpalatable ....unless you're one of Tans boys eh

Exactly. Nothing against the colour red, it's just not CCFC's colour. We are blue & anything other than that will always be wrong in my eyes.

If you had thought a little more intelligently you would have looked at what is behind ying & yang.
Typically it is male and female energy or opposites.

The Moon and Sun are a good example of opposites and are also used as representatives of ying and yang.

As I mention in my original post The Moon is typically associated with BLUE, and The Yellow. So in this case there could be a strong argument for a BLUE-YELLOW combination!
