I promised I'd give my honest opinion of your book on return from my holiday in Mexico so here it is...
Took it to the beach on day 2 and didn't put it down til I got to the end - I loved it!!
I loved your honesty (Soul Crew got 'done' some times) and I know for a fact that recounts from the terraces were true as I was there at many of the games. Chelsea home (78 I think) with the 20 or so Chelsea boys having a pasting in the corner of the bob bank was word for word as I'd describe it.
Also loved your honesty about Sam. I always thought that you were his biggest fan and saw NO wrong in him. This clearly isn't the case, and I can now see your reasons for liking the guy still. The same for Peter Ridsdale (only the other way around), I thought you despised everything about him. But you clearly respected him (in parts).
Finally, I have to say that the bits I enjoyed the most were the clear respect you had for your dad. I lost my dad 5 years ago and though I'm now 51, I still have a tear in my eye when I think of him. A real disciplinarian who insisted I show respect at all times, and a guy that would back me up to the hilt - I could also write a book about him! (massive City fan too

).
Kind regards
Andrew
