Days gone by

With all the media coverage of our club over the past 10 years or so I have to admit that I sometimes yearn for the days when we were hardly ever mentioned in the national press or on the television.

The main worry at the start of every season was whether we were going to get relegated or go out of business and we always used to wonder if we would ever manage to sign anyone we had actually heard of!

The only time we were mentioned nationally was when we had a "glamour" tie in one of the cups which didn't happen very often or when some of our naughty boys were involved in the occasional disagreement with fans of another team.

Most of the coverage nowadays seems to cast a negative light on the club, it's owner, it's former manager etc and although any fan who started watching us within the last 10 years or so have seen some of the best and most successful times the club have ever had, I can't help sometimes hankering for days gone by when everything seemed much more straight forward. We were mostly blissfully ignorant to anything that went on behind the scenes and were only really interested on what happened on the pitch.

And, before anyone says it, when we used to play in blue!
