Time to show Tan some long overdue respect

Thu Aug 21, 2014 9:33 am

The club has moved forward leaps and bounds during his tenure as owner, quite frankly you can see it more and more as time passes by, whilst people will not except the rebrand and wear red kit, the 'Tan Out' chants have faded away, I hope it is because people realise that Vincent Tan has helped no end with the clubs development and progression and will continue to do so despite the constant gripes of the vocal minority.

This latest exposé about Malky, if proved correct, and lets me completely honest here...... it probably is true, you can come to that conclusion by the fact that Malky dropped his compensation claims and issued that grovelling apology to VT that he had major skeletons in his closet.

Vincent Tan has stayed tight lipped on this matter since saying that 'one day the truth will come out' and you've got to respect the fact that he could have leaked this story at any time up until now, even when facing all that critism during the 'Don’t sack Malky' chants, how easy would it have been, although it probably would have jeopardised the legal case to leak some info and put Malkys nail in his coffin as CCFC boss much earlier than he did?

Lads, let’s start to realise that life under VT isn’t to bad at all, a professionally run football club were we don’t have to worry too much about finances and being put out of business due to a couple of million begin owned to HMRC, as well as being active in the transfer market!

Time to show Tan the respect he deserves, amicable negotiations on the kit colour, a COMPLETE END to the disrespect shown to VT when he is present at home games, and end to the constant questioning of his decision making, and I call for CCST and Walesonline to give him some respect to instead of the constant bad headlines about the direct VT is taking the club.

Very sensible post and I have been feeling like this for some time myself.

Respect goes both ways. All he has to do is change the colour back and I will start respecting him.

Let me suggest. To achieve something, you sometimes have to pet people a bit instead of going to total confrontation. Next home match, instead of chanting "Tan out", make big banners saying: YOU CAN BE OUR BIGGEST HERO. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO DO. WE WILL ALWAYS BE BLUE.

I will NEVER back him and I will never respect him because the Malky issue changes absolutely NOTHING about the rebrand and we are still playing in red.

Why do people think this Malky thing changes anything about the rebrand in the slightest?

When Tan shows some respect to the fans & to this club's identity and traditions, then I will be more than happy to do the same. I cannot respect the man when he has rebranded the club like he has.

nice one, like it - sadly when I'm pissed up it is easier to sing along with "Vincent Tan, Vincent tan, you're a w***er" - I know its wrong, but somehow I find myself laughing.

Had to be there I guess - off for a lie down and a good talking to...

:thumbright:
100% agree with you.
Tan was in hindsight right to sack Mackay if the allegations are true.
He was wrong with the rebrand and until he apologises and returns us back to blue he will got no respect from me.

Use a bit of reverse psychology and chant "Vincent tans blue army" maybe that's the way to finally get through to him.

Re: Time to show Tan some long overdue respect

Thu Aug 21, 2014 9:54 am

all he needs to do is turn us back blue, that'll be a good start!

I just want to publicly state, I've never in any way shape or form said anything derogatory about tan... Just in case he's thinking about coming after the fans next :laughing6:

Tan doesn't respect the club, its fans, its history or its traditions.

Where were Tans advisors? Surely he had people who understood the business he was going in to (rational successful business men do), and no rational businessman would scrap a well known brand and "mark" just on a whim or because he liked a certain colour and thought it would look nice.

Who signed the cheques to make the payments to players, clubs, agents?

What grovelling apology did Malky make?

Again, there is a "board of directors" who make these decisions, could it not be possible that one or two members pushed the red rebrand and forced the hand of tan whom had no proper understanding of our heritage!

I'm well aware of that. if anyone on the board pushed it then they are just as bad, but Pass the buck along all you like. Tan wanted this club red & disregarded the fans and disrespected the club traditions and identity when doing so.

I will never agree with the rebrand and for that Tan is a c**t. Financial wise he saved our club and bettered our club and now the hype and controversy around Malky has been revealed has shown he was well within his rights to do what he did its as simple as that if it wasn't for the rebrand i feel Tan would be a Cardiff ledgend but he shot himself in the foot massively with the rebrand its as simple as that but im glad malky has gone and Ole has been picking up results recently and worked wonders financially in the transfer window my only question mark lies on if morrison will be worth his fee i give my full backing to the team and Ole but Tan wont get my backing until the rebrand is reversed

That may have been said in jest, but Vincent Tan's Blue and white army is a brilliant idea.

It gives him a little respect while at the same time re enforcing the fans position.

He will revel in the fact his name us being sung, while at same time being pissed off about the blue thing. The way to open a locked door us not always to try and batter it down, you just need to find the right key or pick the lock.

You sir may be a genius.

I don't think anyone will rake up the idea but as a marketing exercise is is pure gold!

He deserves a big lump of respect for flushing out malky and moody, they have been found to be highly cancerous, and now nobody will touch them with a barge pole. Whatever it is Palace were shown, has to be very convincing.

Im sure someone will say otherwise, but ive read alot and heard on the breakfast talksport show that Steve Parish and Malky/moody are big mates, and are often seen out together for evenings out. So turn to turn your back on your mates like that sounds like Tan has found the smoking gun.

Obviously Badge/Colour wise, VT has left alot to be desired, But hes done a hell of alot of good aswell.

I have always mistrusted Sam Hammam's role in a lot of what has gone on behind the scenes.
The directors (except the obvious one SB) were all afraid of losing their investments or jobs within Tan's organisations. Many seemed to be his yes men. From an outsiders view.

Tan did not do this for any "right" reasons, he did it for his own benefit.
What do you mean by flushing out Malky and Moody? All clubs have dodgy financial dealings and agents that are bleeding the sport dry, allowing the likes of Tan to take over clubs and destroy their history and traditions.

Absolutely. Appeal to his ego. That's what is important to him. Money doesn't matter, he has enough.

Hmm.. not so sure about that, he might actually feel slightly embarrassed by that.

I think the next time he's at the CCS, as he is about to take his seat fans turn to him and give a dignified applause. He'll warm to this and feel slightly humbled. After that I think relationships will have turned a corner and you'll have him eating out of your hand.
