The Midfield

Everyone tried their best but we seemed very disjointed. With the 4 we play we are not getting the best out of Daelhi and Witts. Their talent is being stifled. We play with a diamond then go conventional 442. The problem is we are too narrow and Witts has to cover Fabio a lot. Gunner simply cannot play at the head of the diamond. Surely Daelhi should play here as he can move both right and left. A difficult one yo Dort out at present.

The width will come when Noone returns. This should give Whitts a more active role to boss things. HE has been holding the middle together whilst covering when the full backs are forward. DAEHLI is also being forced to be more defensive. I thought Pilkington when he came on gave the midfield more shape. Its a good thing that Ole has a strong squad for which is going to be a long season ahead.
