Whitts has the ability to be a world beater but never fulfilled his potential in my opinion. Not constant enough for me a and for big games under Malkay looked no where near good enough for the championship let alone one of the best.
Yes he has the ability to do what he did on Saturday but they are to few and far between apart from the one super season he had.

He only joined us in 2007 and had six full seasons in the championship for us so where do you get the 7 occasions he didn't make the Pfa team? He made it on three out of six times which is fifty percent of the time. I'd be interested to see if you can find any player in the history of the championship who has this success rate over 6 seasons or more. The guy still is only 29. Where was the 9 seasons he barely scored any goals or assists ? 2007/ 2008. 9 goals 8 assists , 2008/ 2009 4goals 6 assists, 2009 / 2010 25 goals 13 assists, 2010/2011 11 goals 10 assists, 2011 /2012 13 goals15 assists, 2012 / 2013 8 goals 5 assists. I personally think they are great statistics for a midfielder in the championship. I would be interested again if you can find anyone who has outperformed him over that many seasons?

Perhaps if he went around giving V-signs, getting into fights in town, and getting sent off a lot, some people might appreciate him more?
