Aye same here. Had some of the best times of my childhood kicking a ball around a car park or against a wall. Those days are well and truly gone unfortunately in our society.

Those days are far from gone, I always see kids playing football in local parks.

Not in the numbers they used to. Jumpers for goalposts is a rarity these days. We used to play football for hours with whatever we could find, even a crushed coke can.

I can remember after a series of misfortunate events (burst balls etc) we rolled up several pairs of football socks to make a ball.
It wasn't very good at the time to be honest.

I know I'm only young but playing football against a wall was the best. The ball would always end up in someone's garden and someone would threaten to pop the ball

I agree, but it's not the kids fault for the technology that's available today, I blame the parents more than anything.

Aye not blaming the kids, but the society we have now, kids would rather not play at all than play with something that merely somewhat resembles a ball. Kids in brazil play with anything they can find and their nations grassroots football is superb. We have one of the most obese populations on the planet where people all want the best of everything and have lost touch with the simple things in life i think.

In the late 70's, I remember City players would practice against something like this, out side of, & just in front of the Old Ninian Park grandstand, Grangend end. It was painted on the wall, & was still visible when they demolished NP.

Yeah, going over the football field, just seeing who was over there and just splitting everyone into two teams no matter who knew who.
FIFA was still around in my early days. It was FIFA 93 and 94 etc back then. We used to have some epic games when it was raining but nothing beat going out and playing it for real.
