Kenwynne Jones and the transfer window.

Tue Aug 19, 2014 7:16 am

In view of Jones' early season form and that the transfer window has nearly two weeks to run, is it possible that a Pemier League team will put a bid in for him? There are lots of lower half Premier Teams who may want to give him a chance. Hull springs to mind having just sold Long to Southampton. :(

I think Jones is proving he is a high quality Championship player, but just not good enough for the Premier League, just my thoughts on him.

My thoughts too, but there are teams that may want to take a chance on him.

If he scores 10+ before January then I will be amazed if nobody comes in for him. You can't question his talent just his attitude

Many seem to think that his much improved performances are the result of Jones angling for a move before the window closes. I don't think that's the case, simply because his body language and demeanour indicate to me that he is happy, whereas last season he (and others, it must be said) was without motivation. I certainly don't recall seeing him play with a smile on his face last season.

I think Ole fairly summerised the Kenwyne we saw last season when he said that KJ is now regaining his fitness (but is still not fit enough to play 90 minutes), that he came to Cardiff having played "no football whatsoever" and "he played a couple of games on adrenaline but his fitness caught up with him".

I don't know anything about recent personal problems (he separated from his wife some time ago and there were rumors that his attempts to see his children were being met with a fair bit of resistance) but he looks happy to be playing here and seems motivated. I hope it continues and that he can retain the support of the fans - even if he has the odd off game (as all players do!) - since confidence is important for him and any forward.

Onward and upward. Looking forward to tonight's game.
