The 19.27 protest yesterday

Sun Aug 17, 2014 12:12 pm

I thought was the worst we have done so far. I stood up in the Ninian dead on the mark and I was the only fooker. I started it and for a few seconds I was the only fooker doing it and then it was half hearted. Looked behind me and there about 8 rows up were three fans with there red on just sat threre with right looks on there faces. The Canton and Grange were going but not to there usual standard.
But a mention to Dibs in the new stand who done us proud with there huge flags. Respect to them :bluescarf: :bluescarf: .
Maybe it was because the atmo was dead yesterday being embarrassed by the away fans, but we need to crank it up big time fellas. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I'm in the Grange with my lad and obviously always do the 19:27 and there's plenty of others around us do the same. We are 123 as its good to be near the away fans as you often get a bit of banter hence atmosphere etc. Yesterday, there were a lot of new faces that I've never seen before and I noticed many with physical tickets sitting where ST's used to be and they didn't look the singing types either. It looks like quite a few have cancelled ST's and will probably pick their games and I also think that quite a few regulars maybe on holiday. Yesterday's atmos was awful but I think it will pick up over the next few weeks.

I would of done it but forgot my scarf!, I notice Tan wasn't there also so at least the poor showing of it happened while he was away

It was one of the loudest chants of the day on a pretty muted day throughout for atmosphere. (A Premiership hangover maybe). The important thing is that it did happen and the desire is still as strong as ever for a return to blue.

I didnt notice the clock until about 19:40. But as usual held my scarf aloft. Also noticed lots of fans didnt have their scarves. Obviously the weather had a part to play . I've tied my scarf around the head rest in the car so I don't forget it.

I could only see about 3 scarves in the entire Grandstand.

Not many were bothered joining in, the majority now, dont see it as the most important thing, they just wanted a sign that the team and most importantly OGS has got what it takes to get us promoted, yesterdays result reassured many that promotion is on  when the support relaxes a bit, the singing will happen. :bluescarf:

Here's an idea: instead of thinking about protests and complaining about the colour of the seats, why don't you focus all your energy in supporting the team and creating an atmosphere ?

...just saying, like

It's imperative we keep this alive.

Re: The 19.27 protest yesterday

I was quite disappointed how few people seemed to do it. A few around me in the Canton were whinging when it happened "Oh not this again" and "We're going to have to be put up with this for another season". Not sure if these were regulars as moved my seat this season.

It should continue, it's a simple protest and doesn't do anything to affect the team. If anything it gets the crowd going by at least singing something.

Funnily enough, I didn'tnotice. Probably because I went to watch a football match.

Me and my son normally take part in this but completely forgot our scarves with the sun being out. Joined in the chant but had nothing blue to hold up. Already packed them in the car for the Wigan game.

Depressed ...... Do you know the meaning of depression ?? because theres people out there with depression suffering big time! Saying people are depressed because of a bloody colour change is disrespectful!

or when they not that bothered then ?

Why do you seem to think that the two are mutually exclusive? Why can't you participate in the 19:27 protest & also give all your energy in supporting the team and creating an atmosphere? :?

What did you do to try and help the atmosphere on Saturday? Or are you happy to just have a pop at anyone on here who doesn't agree with your pro-rebrand opinion?

What are your thoughts on those who do both things?

I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of someone who -in the same sentence- complains about the atmosphere while encouraging a protest. It's a simple deduction that if more people used their energy to sing and support the team then the atmosphere would be much better. Unfortunately, some people sit grumbling through the game or keep chanting anti-Tan slogans and then keep complaning about the atmosphere, as if it's Tan's or the rebrand's fault rather than theirs.

I, for my part, sang and cheered my head off on Saturday. Maybe I should have contributed towards the lack of atmosphere by bitching about the red seats and singing 'Tan is a wanker'.
