GUERRA = V CLASSY

Sat Aug 16, 2014 5:18 pm

You could see the guy is smart and benefitting from the experience of being 32 years old. Loads of nice touches, seemed to fit in really well and really quick.

So much talent in this squad, will be tricky for OGS to keep a lid on expectations even at this early stage. :D :ayatollah:

I thought the same, he didn't have long, and first game in a new country but you could see he had something about him, we have so many attacking options :ayatollah:

One very lazy pass but I was impressed how lively he was, wanted the ball all the time. Would have liked to have seen him alongside Jones.

Still have Macheda to come back too :D Gives us options and will be very useful when we have games played close together , he could essentialy rest a pair of strikers for 1 game and play the other 2 without really weakening the starting 11

I also thought he looked really good, held the ball up well when needed and made good runs. Don't think the pass was that bad but whittling ham was sleeping. :ayatollah:

My only worry is strikers need to play to get in rhythm and we have 5 who are top for this division but can't all play.

His movement off the ball was first class, he'll be pushing for a starting spot!

Someone needs to point out to him that you don't play anything to Whittingham unless it's straight to his feet as there's no way he's going to outpace anyone to reach a ball, particularly with only a few minutes to go when he's knackered.

Thought Guerra did very well when he was on.

And what a goal by Whitts - fantastic shot.

I thought he was class in the couple of pre season games I watched. I'm sure I saw a stat that he scored the same number of La Liga goals as Gareth Bale last season.

I've also seen Macheda twice and for me these two will be our number one pairing once they're both fit. I know Jones has already scored 3 times and he's running around like he knows he needs to if he's going to keep his place but the other two are genuine class.
