A fee was agreed with Norwich last night for 26-year-old Pilkington, believed to be just over £1 million, and he could make his debut this weekend against former club Huddersfield Town. The Republic of Ireland international made 62 appearances for the Canaries, scoring 15 goals including a winner against Manchester United back in 2012.

Cardiff City are hosting medicals for Reading defender Sean Morrison and Norwich winger Anthony Pilkington this morning, according to Sky Sports journalist Pete O’Rourke.

A fee was agreed with Norwich last night for 26-year-old Pilkington, believed to be just over £1 million, and he could make his debut this weekend against former club Huddersfield Town. The Republic of Ireland international made 62 appearances for the Canaries, scoring 15 goals including a winner against Manchester United back in 2012.

Morrison had been rumoured to be interesting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all summer and although a deal between the two clubs hasn’t been announced, a deal has believed to have been agreed on yesterday. The 23-year-old was part of the squad that was relegated from the Premier League two seasons ago and will look to fill the void of Bluebirds departure Steven Caulker.

The two will be the club’s seventh and eighth signings of the summer as they look to bounce straight back to the Premier League.

Squad just gets better

I am happy with both of these signings provided they are not for extortionate amounts of money. Pilkington is an excellent squad signing for the Championship who actually performed adequately for Norwich when he appeared in the Premier League. Morrison is not the best centre back out there but I'd say he's better than most that we have. Would not object to him and Connolly starting games at this level.

I think these two signings will be our last in this transfer window unless we sell two or three players...

I am happy - for this window -for Ole to make loads of signings so he can mould players into a team playing style that he wants. He seems to have made the money he has spent in fees stretch very far and respect is deserved for that as I'm surely at least a few will turn out to be great signings.

Now it's time for Ole to galvanise the players he has. I'm warming a lot to OGS. Smart, honest and likable guy.

Cardiff City are poised to sign Reading defender Sean Morrison.

The Bluebirds have made a bid for the 23-year-old centre-back, who has had loan spells at Huddersfield and Southend previously.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been scouring Europe in search of a new defender, but has so far failed to come up trumps.

The Bluebirds have been linked with Senegal international Lamine Sane, while the club's ex-defender Danny Gabbidon is training with the club.

The Wales defender made 200 appearances for the Bluebirds in a five year spell before moving on to West Ham and Queens Park Rangers.

He left Crystal Palace at the end of last season and with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the market for a central defender, could sign on a more permanent basis.

After the 2-1 League Cup win over Coventry City, Solskjaer said: "I still want to bring in another centre-half, but that may not be before this Saturday’s match against Huddersfield.”

Apparently Morrison isn't in Cardiff... He trained with Reading today BUT he has asked if he can talk to Ole coming. Can't see him being here by Saturday

I don't think Reading fans rate Morrison at all...

Clearly folks on this board don't either, considering we've been waiting all summer for a new CB and people want to talk about Pulis instead...
