Going to be a healthy crowd v Huddersfield this Sat

Wed Aug 13, 2014 7:32 am

I've heard City expect 25,000 approx.

Any guesses ?

My guess 22,500 :ayatollah:

You can pay on the day :ayatollah:

Hopefully City will average well over 20,000 this season for Championship football :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :ole:

Just under 18,000 season tickets
About 1,500 from Huddersfield
Expect first game of the season to be a walk up of around 3/4k

24k is probably about right but summer holidays may even bring the kids in and boost the attendance .

If we are at the top by Christmas I would expect around 30k attendances with the half season ticket sales .

Wez, if we get 27,000 that would be Superb and I would say well done City fans for staying with our team :thumbright:

When are you able to be back there?

Thomas if we were top by Xmas with Oles signings and exciting football,I would expect a Xmas crowd to be 30,000, well exceeding what I originally thought :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

After being relegated how we were, anything over 21,000 should be considered a massive achievement. 27,000 would be amazing.

Following the disapointment of last season, on and off the pitch, I really feared that we would be lucky to scrape 22k for much of this season, if we get anything close to 25k then I will be amazed and surprised and extemelly proud of our support for sticking with the team :bluescarf:

If we get a big crowd, and the team win convincingly, we could see nice attendances all season which would be great.

I just hope it's 20,000+ fans supporting the team, and not 20,000+ fans getting on the players backs or singing about everything but the players on the pitch.

I only expected 500, their fans don't travel long distances.

Lets hope City deliver the goods infront a good home crowd so that the floaters come back for the next game in big numbers .... by floaters I mean the non ST holders who pay on the day :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

23,000 I think :ayatollah:

Re: Going to be a healthy crowd v Huddersfield this Sat

Hopefully i'll be going, if i'm ok following my recent operation.

Hope to go to this one and Wigan on Tuesday :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

If we can get 25,000 for our first home game in the Championship that will be good.

Last weekend crowds in the Championship: :ayatollah:

Blackburn v Cardiff - 15,625
Brentford v Charlton - 9,690
Brighton v Sheff Wed - 26,993
Derby v Rotherham 30,105
Huddersfield v Bournemouth - 12,371
Ipswich v Fulham - 17,218
Middlesbrough v Birmingham - 18,371
Millwall v Leeds - 16,205
Forest v Blackpool - 28,028
Watford v Bolton - 15,546
Wigan v Reading - 12,174
Wolves v Norwich - 22,053

So just the FOUR matches got over 20,000

Brighton v Sheff Wed - Brighton normally have large home crowds, Sheffield Wednesday always travel in large numbers.

Derby v Rotherham - Again, Derby often get big crowds and remember they will have been up for it this season as they're one of the favourites and only just missed out on promotion last season. Rotherham have only just been promoted so are on a high.

Forest v Blackpool - Forest are a massive club, so you'd expect them to get around this figure every week. It was also Stuart Pearce's first match in charge.

Wolves v Norwich Wolves' first match back in the Championship, at home to a relegated team.

So if we get 25,000+ against a team like Huddersfield, no disrespect, then that will be very good.

I will be pleasantly surprised if some of the attendance figures mentioned in this thread are achieved. The official attendance may well say 22/23k but with s/t non attendees cos. of holidays then 20k more likely. Hope I'm wrong.

Derby - always impressed me with their attendances relative to success and population. Proper team.

Re: Going to be a healthy crowd v Huddersfield this Sat

Wed Aug 13, 2014 8:38 pm

I think 22,000/23,000 is more likely

Re: Going to be a healthy crowd v Huddersfield this Sat

didn't Derby have free kids season ticket when you bought an adult a few seasons ago ? so there attendances were recorded a lot higher than actual

Derby have a big ground and are taking advantage of that.

Adult Sts starting at £285
Under 12s free season tickets
50% off all sts bought before Mar 16th if they go up (this was when they were in the fight a few months back)
12 month finance at 7%
cheap prices for under 22s down the age groups to 13
e.g under 18 - £115
OAP £190

This has worked for them.

With a fair few empty seats at our gorund now then maybe our club should do the same.

I like the 50% off if promoted as lets face it, a few million refund on ST is nothing compared to the riches of the prem.

They are really making an effort to fill the ground, encourage young support and improve their atmosphere.

The banter between Forest and Derby fans up here is great. Forest fans use the free ticket handouts Derby do as a counter to the RAMS getting big attendances. Im not too sure how valid the argument is but it does seem to have some weight to it as living in the middle of both clubs there seems a lot more support for Forest than Derby but the Reds seem to struggle to match their local arrivals home attendances.

Some interesting info re Derby all of which I was never aware of cheers. Takes a bit of the gloss off the figures I suppose but well done them for a sensible policy on pricing. Get the kids in as they are future paying customers potentially lost to being a sky sports top six fan.

Re: Going to be a healthy crowd v Huddersfield this Sat

A scan around the main bowl on e-ticketing shows about 5000 seats left in the home area, plus about 3-4000 in the upper tier. Probably another 2000 empty in the segregation/away area, plus spare seats in the Premier club lev 4, there's probably some in the Family Stand too, but this doesn't show on e-ticketing.

So about 20-22k gone at the moment, hope there a good walk up.

One bonus of relegation/extending the ground is that if anyone has a change of plan/change of mind on Saturdya and wants to come and watch the team then there are plenty of seats to choose from.

What a contrast to this time last year ! Fans complaining that they 'deserved' tickets and couldn't get them ;)

Be interesting if we do really well to see just how much latent support is out there. Be nice to match the likes of Brighton/Derby/Forest by getting some really big crowds in there now we've got the capacity.
