31,700 was mentioned on the TV and sold out. A few rows were unused at the front.
So we can still get the attendance record back.

Think we only used 31,500 seats of the stadium. Front 2 rows of the Ninian blocked off and quite a few empty seats further back

That attendance can be beaten for a Cardiff home game!
If we draw Man U in the cup late on in the run, I could see the place bouncing.
Or we could play the long game and win promotion and stay in PL. There are enough who will come back and success breeds success.
Forget about the seats for a minute, the newly extended stand looks the part and there could be more where that came from (obviously long-term)..

We almost doubled the previous attendance record for a supercup final I think they said on TV. Seems this super cup is becoming more and more prestigious every year. Real Madrid and seville certainly took it serious tonight.

Official Attendance cited as
30,854.
Previous record was
18,284, at the Stade Louis II, Monaco, for the 2002 Super Cup.
(It had been up to 50,000 and more before, but this was when it was played as a two-legged game at the venues of the teams involved, not a one-off game at a neutral venue).
Not bad, I was there and saw a fair few empty seats, so it not being a full attendance does not surprise me, but still, we should be proud of our stadium!

New record for our stadium

I'd say looking around there were at least 1,000 seats unused and I'm not talking about the ones down the front
