' Vincent Tan Buys Sarajevo Football Club '

Tan has inked a deal to take control of debt-laden FK Sarajevo, officials at the Bosnian Premier League football club said on Wednesday.
“We have signed an agreement which defines the investment and management rights in accordance to the club’s statute and legislation that is in force in Bosnia,” the club’s general director Dino Selimovic told Reuters.
Local media reported that the deal will see the Malaysian tycoon make an investment of around 1.5 million euro in the club, which Reuters said had been close to bankruptcy.
The deal will also see FK Sarajevo collaborating with Tan’s Welsh club Cardiff City, who play in the English Premier League.
“We plan to play friendly games, exchange players, organise joint training camps and marketing campaigns,” Tan told the Sarajevo newspaper Dnevni Avaz when the collaboration was initially mooted in September.
Tan’s ownership of Cardiff City has seen both success and controversy.
He bought a controlling share in the Welsh club in 2010, promising to spend lavishly to win promotion to the Premier League.
Although this goal was achieved, Tan drew the wrath of fans when he changed the colour of the club’s kit from its traditional blue to red, and replaced the bluebird on the club’s crest with a dragon.
