Cardiff City Ready To Flash The Cash
DANIEL VESEY
12th August 2014
According to the The Telegraph, Cardiff are willing to double Ravel Morrison’s wages to bring him over to the club, even though the player has been in the headlines recently and facing assault charges.
Morrison will appear at court on August 28th, charged with two accounts of common assault. It is not the first time the young player has been in trouble with the police, and was one of the reasons that stopped him making the grade at United.
His ability was never in doubt, with Ferguson claiming he was one of the best talents to ever come from the academy, but his attitude wasn’t up to scratch and he was then sold to West Ham.
While at West Ham he was loaned to Birmingham and then came back appearing to have changed a little. He had a few moments of brilliance for the Hammers, a goal against Tottenham in particular, but then appeared to fall out of favour with the manager. He then went on loan to QPR, helping them secure promotion and scoring 6 goals.
The 21 year old is currently training with West Ham while waiting for the court case in late August, he is able to play for the Hammers if selected during this time.
Co-owner David Sullivan has been a big supporter of Morrison and recently declared publicly that he has a future at the club, even though his relationship with the manager seems questionable. A new deal was rumoured to be in place before the allegations but it now remains to be seen if it will still be offered.
West Ham are most likely waiting to see what happens in court before they start negotiations over a new deal.
Cardiff are looking to capitalise on the uncertainty surrounding Morrison’s future and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows the stunning potential the player has from his time working with the Manchester United reserves.
He may feel that he can put the young player on the straight and narrow and help him to release his full potential.
Morrison currently earns around £15,000 a week playing for West Ham. In an attempt to convince him to drop down to the Championship, Cardiff are willing to double those wages and offer him £30, 000 a week.

I have commented on this in another thread.
The main question here is whether OGS feels he can succeed where the likes of Fergie felt it better to steer clear.
His potential is massive for PL, let alone Championship. He could be an incredible asset in the bid for promotion.
BUT
I would think he needs to be guided off the field to ensure he doesn't let himself down. He is the sort of character who will attract the attention of the media whatever he does, so it is a risk to say the least. He will need careful, strong handling if he is to produce the passion on the pitch without the fire outside.
Up to you Ole. Your call!

I strongly suspect this is just the papers looking for a story and Cardiff are a good fit for it.

Could it be that we are paying £15k and wh paying his wages or percentage of them? To get to £30k! If we are after him of course.
