Never really liked his comedy films. Never found him funny tbh, but in his serious roles, I found him to be brilliant. Awakenings, one our photo, insomnia, to name a few. He was spot on playing dark twisted roles. Quite a shock this news,

He was insanely good in dramatic roles, but much like Jim Carrey, people weren't interested in seeing him play serious roles.
I believe he had issues with alcohol addiction at some point, which was vaguely referred to on the tv show he was doing this past year. Clearly just had some dark demons he couldn't get rid of. Really sad end.
I still remember seeing Hook for the first time as a kid, and bloody loving him as Peter Pan.

Anyone that is 40 years old or younger will have fantastic childhood memories of a Robin Williams movie. Those of you older than 40 years have probably got a similarly warm memory of watching one of his movies with your kids. A true entertainment legend. From what many people say he was a truly kind man who was haunted by his depression. The tragic thing is that he acknowledged it and he tried to seek help for it but even the help he got could not save him from this evil depression. My wife and I are watching Good Will Hunting tonight. Funnily enough, Hook was on last week and we laughed about how good the movie was. Not an Oscar winner but endless amounts of fun. That's what his movies were. I will share his movies with my son and any other kids we have. Can only thank him for what he gave to the entertainment industry. Created so many fond memories. Fair play.
