Seems we still haven't found the right combination in midfield.
Roughly speaking; The purpose of a central midfielder is to provide service for the strikers, direct the attacking play and/ or to prevent the opposition from having the opportunity to strike from just outside your penalty area, break up their game, etc.
Dikgacoi and adeyemi seems like they can do the latter, whitts, eikrem, daehli,Kim can see a pass. I would say Gunnar doesn't do either effectively.
With that in mind how would you set up midfield and in what formation?

Dikgacoi or Adayemi holding, Whitts and Kim in the centre. Daehli playing the free role. When Nooney is back I'd change it up but unsure how as we only have one winger

4-3-3
Adeyemi- Digacoi - whitts
Noone - Striker - Daehli

Playing with just 2 in central midfield these days is a big gamble in my eyes. Modern day football sees most team setting up with 5-3-2/3-5-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 etc. If we continue to play with 2 we're more than likely going to be overran and will find it hard to control games.
Id like us to either sacrifice a striker (very unlikely with Ole) and play a 4-2-3-1 or alternatively sacrifice our wingers and play a 4-1-2-1-2, the latter I think would suit us more right now with Noone being out. Brayford and Fabio love to get forward so could provide our width and then I think we would have a nice balance in central midfield with a sitter, Adeyemi as our engine room, Whitts can create and play Daehli off the strikers.

If 4-4-2: Diamond formation with dikgacoi holding, whitts and adeyemi in front of him and daehli behind the 2 strikers.
Away play 1 striker, two holding adeyemi and dikgacoi behind whitts, burgstaller/Kim and daehli.
