Ravel Morrison subject to £3m Cardiff bid

Cardiff City are in talks with West Ham over a £3 million transfer for Ravel Morrison, Goal understands.

The Manchester United academy graduate has one year remaining on his deal at Upton Park and the Hammers are open to a sale.

Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer worked with Morrison during his time as reserve team manager at Old Trafford and believes he can get the best out of a player plauged by off-field controversies.

Morrison was in court this week on an assault charge, where he was accused of threatening to throw acid in the face of an ex-girlfriend.

The 21-year-old was also advised to leave Manchester by former manager Sir Alex Ferguson after his first court appearance in 2011 on a witness intimidation charge, which he admitted.

He completed a move to West Ham in 2012 but spent a year on loan at Birmingham before breaking into the Sam Allardyce's squad in 2013-14.

The midfielder caught the eye during the first half of last season, but was loaned to Queens Park Rangers in February following rumours of a contract dispute with the Hammers.

The Bluebirds, relegated from the Premier League in May, opened their Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw against Blackburn on Friday evening.
