Got to agree. We've got 2 fit centre backs who haven't played competitive football consistently in over a year. Medel on the other hand was one of Chile's better players in the World Cup and could nicely slot in alongside either CB. Leave the tall one to mark Rudy and Medel on Rhodes

He's not had a pre-season, he's nursing an injury and has been on holidays whilst our first team has been working their bollocks off in higher conditions than Brazil at times. No way could Medel play as CB in the Championship, way too short and off the pace.

i really want to believe this, but they havent played for a year, and when they did they rarely paired up at CB together.

Medel isn't as good as people make out. Plays 150% for his country. Plays 100% maybe 4 times a season for a club. The rest of the time he is just being carried or a waste. Its like having a defensive Taarabt in your team - if he turns it on then the opposition has problems but he turns it on very rarely. He lacks consistency which is needed over a long campaign.

Not having a pre season doesn't matter so much since he was only playing just over a month ago, and he's been training with his old club in Chile anyway. He's definitely fit. Other than him it's either 2 rusty CBs or one rusty CB and KTC
