WOULD YOU WORK FOR TAN?

Thu Aug 07, 2014 2:57 pm

Hypothetical obviously.

but lets say CCFC offers you a job, high ranking. pays you...lets say...3x whatever you earn now. BUT you have to answer directly to tan

you have no say in the rebrand btw

would you take it? it would of course mean being a company man and, at any time you are working, would have to endorse the rebrand.

Yes. In times when its tough to find a job of course it'd make sense to do so.

It's all well and good saying yes or no but peoples circumstances change and if it means that you keep the roof over your families head and food on the table then I would like to think that no-one would turn any job down

Just thought it was quite interesting.

Personally i probably would but i could understand if you were to say no.

money is important but i've been in jobs that have paid a lot but i didn't respect myself for doing it so ended up taking a huge pay cut to work in the public sector. and i'd have to have a big long think and ask myself if i could respect myself in the long term.

answer would probably be yes though tbf

anybody that says no is talking utter bollucks - or completely loaded that £ isnt important!

I work for now one of the largest educational establishments not only South Wales but the UK that have recently gone through a iconic merger/rebrand (ironic that its also blue to red!). The message is simple - times are moving so keep with them. If you dont want a job you know where the door is. Its the same attitude down the city for me - either stick with it or turn the other direction

This thread reminds me of the lyrics to a song called 'Money' by Michael Jackson.

Are you infected with the same disease
Of lust, gluttoney and greed?
Then watch the ones
With the biggest smiles
The idle jabbers...Cuz they're the backstabbers
If you know it's a lie
Then you will swear it
If you give it with guilt
Then you will bear it
If it's taking a chance
Then you will dare it
You'll do anything for money...

tbh i expected more like this than people saying yes (except the jacko lyrics obviously). very interesting indeed

i don't know what tan is like as a boss, its more the idea of endorsing something you don't believe in simply for cash. but (and excuse me if i'm mistaken) but you're not as vehemently against the rebrand as some others if im remembering rightly?

You're right, I see the rebrand as a small sacrifice necessary for the survival of our club, not as the loss of 'identity' other do.

Still, do you know anyone who refuses to work for a company because they don't like it's logo / colour ??

not quite, but i myself have taken a massive pay cut as i didn't believe in the companies moral stance on certain issues

...but now i work for the government...go figure

i'm not saying i wouldn't work for Tan, just playing devils advocate really. So many people will refuse to sit in a seat because its red and are happy to band the term "sell-out" about the place. But if it came down to it it seems most would 'sell their soul' if they were benifiting directly from it

Most people don't feel the same connection with their work place as they do their football team. So why would they care about it's identity?

Are people forgetting Mallo in this thread ? :notworthy: the man stuck to his principles and they kicked him out because of it. RESPECT

I can turn my hand to a bit of painting and decorating so I'd probably be promoted to head of recruitment pretty quickly.

If Tan is reading this and is willing to put a nice contract in front of me then I will promise to promote red as much as possible
