That concludes Ole's press conference. The headlines were...
* Tom Adeyemi has signed a three-year deal at Cardiff City
* Jordon Mutch refused to sign a new contract
* If Gary Medel's Inter move collapses, he will be welcomed back at the Bluebirds
* Ben Turner will not play until at least mid-September
Solskjaer on the new signing...
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=145188“I’ve been keeping an eye on Tom’s progress for a very long time. A few years ago, my Manchester United reserve side played against Norwich’s first team and Tom was their standout player. He scored a great goal that day and stood out as a fine talent, even at that young age.
“Tom has a physical presence, drive and energy – up and down the pitch. He can dictate games and is great at winning and anticipating second balls. We’ve been interested all summer and I’m thrilled we’ve got our man ahead of the season kick-off.
“You need consistent performers in this league and Tom is one of those players who will fit in with Whitts, Gunnar and KG in that central midfield area. Those are guys that you can trust every single week to perform – they are all Premier League quality. We are looking to the future and we want Tom and the others playing for us in the top flight next year.
“What’s more, Tom is an intelligent young man with a great personality – the kind of character we want around the training ground. He plays with a smile on his face and we’re very much looking forward to seeing him perform for Cardiff City.”

And the big news as Aron walks in...the beard is on the way back!
"We’re all focused on new season. We're raring to go.
"You want to be part of best league in world. We got a sniff of it but one year is not enough. We want to play there again and play among best in world."
"The Gaffer has good players who want to work hard for him and he knows that. We have quality and a big squad, which you need. There is belief."
"We need to be hard to beat. That’s how we did it last time. We were strong at home and won the first 10 games. As long as you don’t concede too many goals, you are up there."
"I’m fully focused and fit and can’t wait to play tomorrow. It was frustrating not being picked last year. Obviously you want to play, but it just makes you more focused in training."
Thoughts on Solskjaer? "There was a lot of things happening behind scenes which I don’t even know about. He’s as focused as we are, knows what’s expected of us and is ready to go."
The opposition? They have two players we know a lot about in Rudy and Craig, and they have got a good, strong team. We want to kick on but they won’t give us anything. We need a good start; hopefully we get that."

We have news...
Cardiff City have announced the signing of Tom Adeyemi. The highly-rated central midfielder links up with the Bluebirds from Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee.
Twenty-two year old Tom completed his medical, prior to putting pen to paper on a three-year deal at Cardiff City Stadium. He will train with the Bluebirds on Thursday morning, ahead of travelling with Ole Gunnar Solskjær and his new teammates to Blackburn for Friday evening’s opening 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship fixture.
Born in Norwich, Tom began his professional career with Norwich City in 2008 as a 17 year old, prior to experiencing loan spells at Bradford City, Oldham Athletic and Brentford in subsequent seasons. He signed a permanent deal with Birmingham ahead of the 2013/14 season, making 40 appearances for a Blues side that for a short spell featured fellow new Bluebird, Federico Macheda.
Speaking exclusively to Cardiff City Player after completing his move, Tom said: “From the outside looking in, Cardiff City has a very strong squad that will challenge for a quick return to the Premier League this season.
“I took no persuading from the Manager to come here. It was a fantastic opportunity for me to work with somebody like him and to play for a club like Cardiff City. I’m very pleased that everything has been completed ahead of the season and now I can focus on fighting for a place in the side and helping us get the season off to a great start.”

Any news on a new centre-back?
"There will be at least one centre-back coming in to boost the squad.
"Ben is out for a while, Juan is suspended, Matt was out last season, Mark was out for most of the season last year, so I needed to cover my bases."
Latest injury news...
Solskjaer: "Nooney will hopefully back by end of month but it is hard to say with Ben Turner. You won’t see him before September and the international break, though.
"It is a big blow. I was thinking about him as a leader this season. But he’ll come back stronger. He’s the right type."

Cardiff are favourites...is that a good bet?
"I think it’s a good bet, I hope so, but then again this league is tough. There’s at least five or six that can look at ourselves as candidates to go up.
"Blackburn, Fulham and Norwich. There’s at least five or six that can go up and we play a few in the first eight games so let’s see."
The latest on Gary Medel?
"I’m not negotiating. Mehmet’s been clear what he wants for him.
"If Medel collapses and he comes here, he would be the first on training ground to fight for the cause to get promoted. He’s a winner and loves playing football. All the best if it happens for him."
Could he have done more to stop big-name departures?
"No.
"When they don’t want to sign a new contract I don’t want them here anyway.
"I tried to convince Mutch to sign new contract but he wanted to play in Premier League so we’ll see him in 12 months."

Love this!
Players who want to play are the players I care to watch.

Is there still work to be done in selling Medel?
Seen him in a Milan shirt but is that just another propaganda stunt by them

The whole of twitter in Italy is welcoming him yet the official website has nothing on it.

On the Mutch and contracts, Ole is spot on and great to see him have the same view as me.
Connolly getting some negative replies from our OWN supporters about wanting to play every game and be here yet get sad over Mutch leaving when he doesn't wanna be here, feck em.

The Italian press have an OGS quote from today's press conference. Can anyone confirm this was said?
"An agreement was reached in principle with Inter and everything should be announced soon. Otherwise Medel, in all likelihood, will play for Cardiff in the League Cup race next Wednesday, against Coventry."
Would be interesting to see him play one last time.

pretty much what he said but it was said a little ironically like if he doesn't get it sorted soon then the great Gary Medel will have to play against coventry, it was met with a few chuckles from the journos.
