WEST BROM SCOUT FANCIES

Tue Aug 05, 2014 9:04 pm

A scout from West Brom who has been watching several pre season friendlies of teams in the Championship reckons that Derby will be the team to beat this season.

Also says that Wigan and Fulham will be one of the other two who get promoted automatically in his opinion.

Can't say his prediction is earth shattering but it is his opinion nonetheless.

I've heard in the Premiership he thinks, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Man U or Liverpool could win it :laughing6:

Derby will be missing George Thorne, Andre Wisdom and Patrick Bamford from their team last season. They'll struggle to make play offs. Wigan will be the ones to beat in my opinion. All 3 promoted clubs will be in the mix.

I didn't know that Fulham have lost all 10 outfield players and the five off the bench from their opening game last season.

That's probably a good thing from their point of view. They were even worse than us. No desire in that team at all and a very old first eleven. Fulham do have if not the best the one of the DVP teams in the UK. I expect a lot of excellent youth players to emerge for them this year and make a name for themself.

I think people might me underestimating Norwhich this year. Their brilliant fanbase is always worth a few points too.

Fulham will be in the Championship for a few seasons and Wigan I don't think they will be all that again like last season.

McClaren has signed Cyrus Christie (Coventry City), Zak Whitbread (Leicester City) and George Thorne (West Bromwich Albion) – as well as Best - this summer, while Jonathan Mitchell, Alban Bunjaku, Ivan Calero, Alefe Santos and Shaquille McDonald have all arrived as players initially for the Rams’ Under 21 squad with a view to progression to the first team in due course.
