Not the most consistent player but at his best he's a game changer. He would probably have won us 5 points alone with his important goals. Saying that, £6m for a player that isn't very consistent isn't bad but I just feel we should have kept him for anything less than £8m.

zabier, i disagree, £6m is a very good price considering he would leave us in a years time for nothing.

i would agree with your valuation if we had him on a long term deal and could hold out for more money, but in the circumstances i think the club have done a blinder getting that much money for him

I rate him too, but I am not sure he would have been a shoe in for starting XI this season. The midfield with him and whitts looked so lightweight without Medel. Since ole plays 4-4-2 for the most part I think he would have had to drop either mutch or whitts to make room for a dcm.
