A forum for all things Cardiff City

It was positive seeing so little red in the wolfsburg game, but unfortunately it's still there. The demographic seems to be kids and misunderstood middle aged men and women. What can we do to turn the tide on casual supporters?

I'm far from a supporter of the red but why the hell should we discriminate against fans who wear the teams colours? What a pathetic post.

Who said anything about discrimination? That's one thing I don't advocate, This is 2014 not the days of the soul crew. What i want to know is how do we engage with reds? I'm sure they're cardiff through and through, but we have to be smart on how we push our agenda (Blue and the bluegird badge) this year. The trust shirts are one hell of a start, i think the 19.27 protests through the seasons is a massive step, but is there something else we could do?
Tue Aug 05, 2014 4:18 am
The fact you're asking how do you engage them is surely discrimination. Asking how else we can protest against it is a diffirent matter and I'm totally behind that!

Some people like tuna...others hate it.
Some people like the colour red...others hate it.
Everyone entitled to their own view/opinion.

Exactly. I like a bluefin tuna myself. Much better than a red herring!

I will wake up on the morning of the game and decide what colour to wear
I wont be influenced by buffoons
Tue Aug 05, 2014 7:17 am
This just shows the mentality or lack if it, with some so called "fans".
Whoever supports Cardiff city is the main thing. The colour they wear is totally irrelevant. I've got red and blue I've been a fan since late 80's and nothing will change other than support for the tean
Tue Aug 05, 2014 7:26 am
The majority of City fans are now BLUE,in fact at home games about 90% and at away games 99%
Lets forget those who want to wear Red and Support the team as usual,we can still sing We will Always be BLUE as well as other songs, but please no more fans at matches turning on each other.
The last two years of originally a so called Red brigade threatening other City fans wearing BLUE and then some say it happened the other way around, this sickened me and actually the whole rebrand had me thinking of calling it a day.
I am one of those who has pushed the BLUE at every moment, we won't change Tan,but what we have done and can continue to do is keep our identity alive, but in a Respectful way.
Now this season,I will still be BLUE,but I am finally going to try and enjoy my football

I understand not wanting to be influenced by buffoons, but doesn't this make you think? (Spread over 2 posts)

You can wear what you want, but all the fans who wore their colours over the years weren't misguided surely.

Let them wear what they want...
If you want to abuse someone for wearing a red jersey and not a blue jersey then it's your choice.
But why stop there? You could also abuse the stewards for not wearing Blue.
Then move on to the folk who like the causal clobber...
Then the kids who may be wearing school uniforms and what not...
Blue or nothing eh...

I didnt suggest that they had..
I actually said "if you want to" which implies me giving him an option/choice if you will...
Kinda like will I wear red or blue today?
Tue Aug 05, 2014 11:12 am
So I'm a 'Misunderstood middle aged man' because I choose to wear the team's colours?
Will you be recommending any psychological treatment before I make a total fool of myself by attending all home games and the majority of away games?

Which is my opinion, it's not me abusing anyone in the stadium.

I will never wear red and I will struggle to see how people could wear red over blue but some people do just want to wear the club's home kit colour and I will respect that view. I don't agree with it, but I will respect it.

Even asking that question makes you sound sad, blue/red we all support same club, why some people think they have a right to have a go at another supporter just because they have a different opinion is baffling, maybe shows the mentality of some of our fan base. The 19.27 show of blue is brilliant, but hope our fans can actually vocally support the team with a wider range of chants, where have the old cardiff chants gone ? One man went to mow?
Tue Aug 05, 2014 2:06 pm
I think people should be able to wear what they wont, but i dont understand why you would pick red?
