Newcastle have made a £3million bid for Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers target Jamaal Lascelles.
The 20-year-old was left out of Nottingham Forest's friendly with West Brom at the weekend and is keen on a move to the North East rather than a switch to London.
The England Under 20 international is one of the hottest prospects outside the Barclays Premier League and has attracted interest from a host of top-flight clubs.

The news is in the Mirror, and it looks like 2o year-old Lascelles could cost as much as £3M, and Newcastle are hoping to complete this deal within the next 24 hours.

Newcastle have been interested in the 20 year-old Derby-born defender for about a year now, and Arsenal have also been credited with a big interest in the player.

The 6’3″ central defender was pulled out of Nottingham Forest squad for their friendly game over the weekend against West Brom, and that’s usually a sign that a deal could be close.

Last season Jamaal played 32 times with 3 goals for Forest, and he has played for the England U18, U19 and U20 sides, and thought to be one of the best young defenders in England.

Karl Darlow is the 20 year-old 6ft 1ins tall number one goalkeeper at Forest, and he has played 67 times for the first team, and last season he played 45 times for the Nottingham club, and he has also been out on loan at Walsall and Newport County.

Karl is the grandson of the former Wales international forward Ken Leek, who was part of the Wales squad for the 1958 World Cup in Sweden.

Darlow is eligible to represent Wales the Welsh FA confirmed that Darlow had declined an invitation to join the full Wales squad for the friendly match versus Austria in February of last year.

The Northampton born player has not been capped by England at any level.

It also looks like both players may be ones for the future, and Sky Sports is reporting that both players could be loaned back to Nottingham Forest, at least for the first half of next season – but that’s by no means certain.
