I can see this one happening and it's seemed an obvious for a while. Had we stayed in the Prem I think he's be an obvious choice for us.

Huw Jenkins seems to understand how much of an impact it has on fanbase to have Welsh 'stars' playing for Welsh clubs. I can also see them pulling off a move for Joniesta too.

Pretty depressing in truth. Our club has greater far potential I believe and we are not living up to it because there is always some dipsh*t in a suit messing us up.

I'm going to keep repeating this as well until others start posting on the matter - Swansea have just achieved Category One status with their youth academy. They can poach from ours from now on and there's nothing we can do about it. This is the only turf war we have and we are loosing...

We have a window of time though - currently, at every age group we have a better team at youth level. We need to achieve Category One pronto so this stays that way.

would be a good move for a local boy, far better quality than playing week in and week out in the SPL and also good news for Wales :old:

Very well done on having your son involved in the academy. Best of luck to him as well. :ayatollah:

I wish you were right on the Category One thing but I am certain that this is not the case and we are Category Two. Please please prove me wrong though!!

We are both currently category two although we are now pushing for category one with our new Academy training complex in Landore.

Swansea let him go as a youngster. Adam Matthews did well with us, but he scored that stunning own goal at Ipswich  , and, after that, Dave Jones hung him out to dry. Might be the next, of a long line, who have played for us and for Swansea.

I hope for the club's sake and the development of our youth players we are cat one, but in an article where we set up an academy in Bristol/Somerset, it said we were Cat 2 and that was around February. Cat 1 academy would mean we are one of the elite academy's

I say throw the book at bringing Matthews home. Loaning them Berget should be a bit of a leverage in the deal. Maybe give them him for permanent as part of the deal. 3m would be a steal

He left under a cloud DJ let him go for free, Although Gary Speed rated him for the Welsh team. Since then he`s won the Scottish Championship 3 times, played in both Champions league and Europa whilst adding to his Welsh Cap tally. He`s in his prime knows how to win championships, Prodigal son returns a man, proper Boy Own stuff, with Bellamy gone, we need a local hero, who could show our back line some leadership much like Caulker last year, but even better tbh. His winning mentality could be infectious. Annis mentioned on another thread Matthews want to come home to South Wales, Ole and Ronny are obviously close mates, together they could sort this out and let Huw pay for the flight down. The Defence worries me I hope we try and speak to Matthews "Better the Devil you Know". Rant over :bluescarf:
