Watched the S4C stream of the match today. Good performance.
One thing I was thinking throughout the second half, though, was what has happened to Kenwyne Jones?
He was chasing every ball, running (!) and putting in a lot of effort.
If he stays like that all season then who knows what he's capable of?!

He's been good all through the summer apparently, good on him nice to see him giving it his best.....

He is still a lazy player, doesn't attack the ball anywhere near enough as he should. I would like him to prove me wrong and become a good player . I think he should go

Loved it when he was running flat out chasing down a ball and smashed one of their players off the pitch

Some people are clueless!!!

If used rightly he could make mess of this league

He came to us after not playing for ages, similar to Odemwingie when he joined. He's now had a full pre season and will do well for us I think. Would probably get rid though because of his wage?
His debut he gets the winner, Fulham he was excellent, won everything although he did miss a sitter.
He gets a fresh start from me this season, I think he will force his way into the starting 11 ahead of Guerra

No blue lagoon I am not clueless....I really don't believe he is worth his wage - and for a big guy he does not impose as much as he should.
I also said that I hope he proves me wrong and therefore becomes a good player.

Did you watch the game today live, he had a good game when he came on

Yes i did watch the game.

Forgot target men were the type to chase things down 24/7, supporters not keeping up with the game and don't realise it's major rare to see target men busting their balls every minute.

He was very lively and looked like he was enjoying himself. Got a good feeling for him this season.

Aimed at me?
I just said it was refreshing to see KJ putting in plenty more effort than he did last season.

Some people expect endless running from a targetman whose 6'4 and quite on the large front(not fat but just strong)
Agreed though, he looks revitalised. Shame our fans are so won over by workhouses that they don't appreciate clear talent and ability

If your in any doubt about KJ,then read Harry Redknapp book, tells you all you need to know.

If he can just attack crosses coming in bit more aggressively will be good for us this year.Even if he doesn't get a head on the ball defenders will always have one eye on a big man running at them.As posted, clean slate for me this year.

Ned, Jones looks like a totally different player

Wouldn't want to read Arry's book tbh but I'm intrigued on his opinion of Jones. Maybe you can enlighten us?

Shows the kind of hard working player he is, people need to read this to see that he works too hard.

I'm a really big lad. I once played at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane and when I saw myself on telly I looked like a lame donkey in the speed department. Us big blokes might look slow and lazy but we don't mean to. I also looked a bit overweight though so maybe.
In my opinion big Kenny is a typical confidence player. Feed his confidence with support and goals and he will do great this season. However, if he has a bad start I think he might disappear into the reserves.I hope he scores heaps, we get promoted then we sell him to the Jacks for 50 million caravans.

It is actually good to see someone understand KJ, people seem to know nothing about Football or what a 6ft4 targetman is meant to do.

This is a very good post.
I've understood that big, heavy men do not look as quick & silky as smaller players.
Take Crouch (not everybody's cup of tea I know) for example. He always looked slow & cumbersome but was actually a very talented player with an excellent first touch.
Saying this, KJ was very poor last season whatever excuse people make for him.
He's started the pre-season well long may it continue.
Mon Aug 04, 2014 9:14 am
I agree last season he was crap. His goal tally shows that. It is a bit of a gamble with him but if he starts the season well he might become an asset again and we can sell him when we get promoted and his value is at a premium. I hope he does a great job for us as he is not as lazy and slow as he looks.

For a few years in the championship we lacked power up top.. A smasher, someone who was a Presence in the box.
We have that this season..
