Le Fondre

When we signed him, I wasn't overly enthusiastic and I thought we had signed another Earnie type player, a good goal scoring poacher with very little else to his game and he would only be useful as an impact sub. I was totally wrong, the little I have seen of Le Fondre at Bath, Yeovil and today has shown me he is a very good footballer, puts in a shift, looks a constant threat and has way more to his game than I thought. Kim's goal started with Le Fondre using his strength to hold off the defender (I didn't realise how strong he is at shrugging off challenges) and curl a delightful cross to Jones at the back post to head against the post for Kim to be left with a simple tap in.

I thought Le Fondre and Maynard linked up superbly today and I would start the pair at Blackburn, with what seems like a rejuvenated Jones on the bench to provide a different option if necessary. Not sure where Macheda was today, carrying an injury? Guerra hasn't done anywhere near enough for me so it's definitely Le Fondre and Maynard to lead the line for me with Jones on the bench at Blackburn. What does everyone else think?

Just lacking a bit of height for me but if we're determined to play the ball mostly on the ground then give them a shot. I would go for Jones/Le Fondre myself - big man/little man often works

Agree with this.
