Blackpool sign Joan Oriol from Osasuna

Blackpool have announced the signing of defender Joan Oriol from Osasuna, subject to international clearance.

The 27-year-old has signed a one-year deal at Bloomfield Road, with the option of a further 12 months.

Oriol joined Osasuna from Villarreal last summer, but his contract was terminated after they were relegated from La Liga last season.

The Tangerines have struggled to recruit players during the transfer window, but Oriol has now become the club's 10th signing this summer.

Blackpool begin their Championship campaign at Nottingham Forest on August 9.

Blackpool have signed Cardiff City goalkeeper, Joe Lewis on a season-long loan, according to Sky Sports.
Lewis becomes Jose Riga’s first senior goalkeeper since he took charge at the club in June, and with the season starting at the weekend, it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Blackpool have the option to make Lewis a permanent addition to the squad, ‘at a later date’ according to Sky Sports. Lewis has made only 5 appearances for the Welsh club, after playing second fiddle to David Marshall, the Club’s first choice stopper.

The 26-year-old said,

“I was sat at Cardiff for the last two seasons behind David Marshall, who has done outstanding.”
He went on to say,

“I’ve had to make do with a couple of cup games and the odd league game here and there, and it was pretty frustrating really. I knew that I had to get out and play some regular football.”
“It’s great to come to a club like Blackpool and hopefully make the No 1 position my own.”

John Lundstram could be about to go out on loan again, with Blackpool his next destination according to a Sky Sports source.
The Everton U21s midfielder spent time on loan at Yeovil Town and Leyton Orient last season as he continues his development.

Blackpool need another 10 PLAYERS before window closes, says manager Jose Riga

Blackpool manager Jose Riga has revealed that he is looking to bring another TEN players to the club before the end of the transfer window.
Blackpool have signed 12 players although several were not registered in time for Saturday's opening Championship game at Nottingham Forest.
Riga said: 'I need 10 more players before the end of the transfer window but I'm a realist. That isn't me being difficult - I just want to bring more quality players to the squad.
'I want to have choices and I need a lot. It's now up to other people to take care of the money and do the deals.'

The Seasiders lost their opening game of the Championship season to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but Riga believes he can turn around a team odds-on favourites for relegation but insists he needs help from those in charge of the purse-strings.
‘I’m always happy to be able to do my job even in big, big, big difficulties,’ said Riga. ‘Normally it makes you stronger. That’s what I told to the players too.
‘My ambition is to build a competitive team. If I’m here of course we want a better future. For me the main problem will be getting more players in. I was happy that no one got injured, because they are all coming from different clubs so we don’t know their fitness.’
