When will people realise, it's so incredibly easily to make a fake journalist account and use the hastag's of a certain club and then throw a players name in.

Mats Daehli is staying at Cardiff City, I'm not even ITK but it's clear as day he won't be going anywhere any time soon.

Thats account has 15 k follower i very much doubt its fake. Chairman pretty much confirmed there are PL clubs enquiring about Mats, when he said he could move back up tomorrow but he made the choice to stay. So thats probably all there is to it, these clubs looking into it.
I mean why would he want to go to that shit club though? :laughing6:

Can easily just buy followers like that, maybe a popular account and changes his name, bio and photo during the transfer window. I can almost guarantee Mats will be a City player come the end of the window. :ayatollah: His dad Ole would have to sign the release papers, we all know that's not happening

I think Huw Jenkins gets a lot from playing up to the Cardiff rivalry and he clearly loves getting one over on us. He probably gets a lot of support from their fans by doing so too. Don't get me wrong, I actually think he has been an outstanding chairman from a Swansea point of view and I also think he is a patriot who wants to see Welsh players do well. But it looks to me anyway that he is an old school Swansea fan who is a 'very much interested' in Cardiff City... And maybe for good reason...

Their transfer targets are more often related to our own more than any other club. Just in the past few seasons think about Scott Sinclair, Jefferson Montero, Bafetimbi Gomis were all well reported targets of ours and I'm sure they'll feel like the cats that got the cream if those last two signings turn out well for them. (Not that our fans seem that bothered thus far). Even captain Ashley Williams was in negotiations with us before choosing them. Then there was the divisive bit for Jay Bothroyd when he was playing out of his skin, which was most likely designed to unsettle and entice bids from other clubs for a player we needed for promotion and who's contract was expiring in six months.

I think there may be some logic to this rumour. Personally I believe the signing of Daehli is the single biggest coup this club has ever made. He will leave our club one day and for a fee that will set a new record in transfer money received by CCFC. If we were to sell now we wouldn't get much more than the money we will get for Medel. If we sell in two years and if Mats stays injury free, I am 100% convinced we will get over £30m. I have no doubt at all. Mats is the one young player in the game I've been keeping tabs on for a couple of years prior to him joining us and I am still in shock he is registered as our player.

Our demise is Swansea's gain. There is a Welsh 'fan grab', as well as, and more importantly a battle among the Academies (which will become far more important to British clubs in the near future because of FFP) to sign the next Aaron Ramsey or Joe Allen. Swansea have just achieved Category One status as an academy (this subject needs a thread of its own) which effects us in the long term. Swansea can now technically tap up and poach any one of our non-pro academy players and there is nothing we can do about it. Swansea will not get Mats Daehli, but they may well and will certainly attempt to steal the cream of our academy unless we soon achieve Category One status ourselves...

Interesting post. Recently there was a rumour about how they were making moves for Medel too wasn't there?
There is no way the club would sell Daehli to Swansea of all clubs. Also agree that it would be almost idiotic to sell him now as he will more than likely go for so much more money in 1-2 years provided he keeps pushing on.
About about that bizarre Berget signing does anyone think Berget was bought to make sure Mats settles in? Someone on the other board suggested it, thought it was a joke, but was watching a football documentary the other night and they be known to do that when they have a young talent they want to make sure is happy on and off the field. He was rumored to be homesick in manchester i wonder if they made sure he was surrounded by his mates. At least if that was the case the signing would make more sense

Hi Tommy. Thanks for actually reading all that!!

Funny enough I've been thinking for a while that the Berget signing is somehow Mats related though I don't know exactly how. Am I wrong, but I'm pretty sure Mats was the last of the three Molde players to sign? Maybe your point is the reason? I've said above how much I think Mats's value could be as a monetary asset so when you think about on those terms for a club of our size its a 'by any means necessary' type scenario. Perhaps its more a Molde thing? Do they get a whopping sell on fee now that we've made Berget known in the UK (though he hasn't been as successful as he could've been).

I don't think the Eikrem signing is a fickle signing though. I think this guy is going to prove himself for us this year as he seems to be technically talented with a good football brain. Looking forward to watching him this season...

No legs in this. Last place we would sell him is to the Jacks.

Yes it was a very interesting post by Otto didn't realize about the Category One status thing.

Anyway rest assured there's only one place Mats is going when he leaves City(hopefully not just yet) and that's back to United.

Cheers Redbird.

Not sure I agree on the Man Utd inevitability thing though. Think those rumours re-surface because of battered egos and not understanding why he rejected them...
