To the microphones of Gazzetta.it, Gary Medel’s agent Fernando Felicevich gave a slight update on the situation of the deal that will take the Chilean to Inter:

“We are on our way to Cardiff, and I can tell you that the negotiations are going on as we speak and we are discussing the details of the deal”.

Medel ready to drop wages with 560 000 euro’s to join Inter

To make the transfer to Inter go quicker, Gary Medel could be ready to sacrifice himself and help Inter by reducing his wages. According to the Chilean newspaper El Merurio the player would be ready to drop his wages with 560 000 euro’s which is half ammount that is keeping Inter and Cardiff distant. The newspaper reports that Cardiff wants 11.1 million euro’s and that Inter is offering 10 million euro’s. This wage drop would help Inter raising their offer and the contacts between Inter’s directors and Medel’s agent Fernando Felicevich are continous. El Mercurio also reports that Piero Ausilio told them that Inter is working on getting Medel and also other targets. For the coming hours the final sprint should be done which could permit Medel to become an Inter player very soon.

Gary Medel's agent has revealed that he is in Cardiff in an attempt to finalise the midfielder's seemingly imminent switch to Inter.
The Chile international impressed at the World Cup and Inter have made no secret of their desire to lure him to San Siro from Cardiff City.
Cardiff only signed Medel in August last year, but he was unable to prevent the Welsh club being relegated from the Premier League.
An agreement for his transfer is yet to be reached, but Medel's representative Fernando Felicevich is now in the Welsh capital in the hopes of thrashing out a deal.


"We are on a mission in Cardiff and I can say that at this moment negotiations are ongoing," Felicevich told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"We are discussing the details of the affair."
Medel made 35 appearances in all competitions for Cardiff last season.

So they are offering £8 million and we want £8.8 million?? Not much in it now.

Inter were able to offer €7.5 million for Gary Medel thanks to the player himself. So strong is Medel’s desire to play for the Nerazzurri that he’s taken a €500k pay cut to facilitate Inter’s new offer. According to TuttoSport Cardiff have softened their stance on the deal and the Chilean international is waiting for the green light to fly over to Milan.

La Gazzetta dello Sport announce that the deal between Inter and Cardiff for Gary Medel could be done today, and he could finally become a Nerazzurri player.

“Yesterday, Cardiff played a hard but good “game” against the agent Fernando Felicevich who fought to let the Welsh club give the green light for letting his client leave. Across the ocean has the Nerazzurri, Sport Director Piero Ausilio given an mandate of bringing the Chilean midfielder to Milan for 7.5 million euros. The player have already agreed with the terms with Inter. But it remain to define how the payment will be done to Cardiff, Inter have offered a two-year payment. Today the hunt will end. The huge maneuver from Thohir has been a success, like the move for Taider to Southampton who will do his medical evaluation on Tuesday. There are some plans for Schelotto as well.
