Do we have room for Jack Collison?

Fri Aug 01, 2014 6:46 am

Currently on trial with QPR but has been left out of their touring squad to go over to Ireland.

I've always rated the lad, do you think we would have room in our squad for him or do we have better?

Top player, but where would we play him?

I'm happy with the midfield as it is - would like another winger, but I think it's already strong enough

I'd say he's better than the likes of Gunnarsson Ralls and Eikrem but not good enough for the starting XI.
Great player to have especially with a long hard season on front of us

Id deffo take him as I don't think the strength in depth is there in the midfield.

This is the type of player we should be looking at. Lots of potential which he hasnt reached yet and welsh which is a bonus. About time we started getting some welsh players again.

Not for me - constantly injured.

Our medical team could see if he's crocked or not...

Definately should be considered as he no doubt has Premier League potential.

I also think it might be time to move Gunnarson on and get a fee for him.

I have a good feeling that Eikrem might come good this year though.... :ole:

Really ??

Whitts, Mutch, Gunnars, Eikrem, Dikgacoi, Daehli, Noone, Kim, Burgstaller, Ralls, Harris.

A lot of those players are also versatile, I think we're fine when it comes to midfielders. I hope Collison finds a club and settles well though for the sake of Wales, definitely a quality player if he can stay free of injury and consistently get game time. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

We have plenty of players better than him already. He isnt even that good IMO.
All we need is a CB and our transfer business will be over. :ayatollah:

Agreed, but also if we did take him, change his name to Jock or John. ;)

We may as well donate a few million to the NHS. Less complicated than signing him.

Didn't see this. Very funny post.

Think Mutch will leave this window though. I can see Gunnar going too. Collison may be worth considering via a super thorough medical. It's not like we got many 90 minute games out of Jordon...

He is probably still training with QPR, but like the OP says left out of their next friendlies -they are hardly jumping at the chance of signing Collison.

Premier League player when fit but I wouldn't be surprised if a Championship side gets him.

Could he be offered a wage structure based on appearances?

Collison going to Ipswich?http://www.coastalscene24.co.uk/sport/transfer_news_former_west_ham_midfielder_jack_collison_has_been_training_with_ipswich_town_while_frank_nouble_looks_set_to_depart_1_3729854

I would love to see him here, but as our squad stands we don't have the room to bring in anyone before anyone leaves first.

I would loathe to see him go to a rival who could well have a good year. From a Wales point of view though he needs to play. Ipswich are a very physical side though and this is an exceptionally physical league. The odds of him getting crocked again would be high if he goes there surely...

The boy has undoubted talent but his downfall is this injury proneness. For a lad with that much talent he should be playing for a prem team but clubs clearly don't want to offer him a deal due to this. I'm in 2 minds if we should look at him. We have a large squad and if he is out here and there we could cover it but fit he would be one if our best midfielders. Risk Vs Bebefit analysis really.
