Chilean World Cup star's agent flies into London for talks with Bluebirds boss, but is told Cardiff want £10m for Medel

Cardiff City are standing firm over Gary Medel and have told Inter Milan: “Meet our valuation or he’s going nowhere.”

Medel’s agent Fernando Felicevich flew into London to tell Bluebirds chairman Mehmet Dalman the Chilean only wants to play for the Italian giants in the upcoming 2014-15 season.

However, Cardiff made it clear to Felicevich their price is £10m ... and they won’t deal with any figure below that.

There has been no official comment from the Bluebirds, but it has been confirmed that Felicevich and Dalman have had face-to-face talks this week over Medel’s future.

Inter are keen to sign Medel on loan with a view to a permanent transfer, but Cardiff insist they will only sanction a straight cash deal at the right price.

The Italians value Medel at £7m and are expected to move closer to Cardiff’s demands. However, Turkish club Galatasaray are also keen on Medel and willing to match Cardiff’s valuation, while a German club have also made an enquiry.

Dalman made it clear Cardiff won’t budge from their position when he told WalesOnline: “We are not going to take a loss on a player who was a World Cup star in Brazil.

“We have made it clear what our price is and that won’t change.”

City will not accept a loss on a player they signed for around £10m from Sevilla a year ago, and won’t be browbeaten by Inter into accepting a lower fee.

Medel is due back in the UK from Chile over the next few days, having had extra time off after the World Cup and to recover from a thigh strain.

He has been given the number 19 Bluebirds shirt for the looming Championship campaign while talks over his future continue to be thrashed out.

Well done us. Would inter Milan be conducting themselves in the same way if they wanted a player from Man U or Luverpool? They need to show some respect and if they want the player then make a decent offer.
