Will we see a new CB before season starts?

I'm getting a bit nervous. I think our squad is looking great, but defense needs to be strengthened.
Will OGS start the season without bringing in another quality CB?

Hopefully not, Hudson and Turner are more than good enough for the Championship as proven 2 seasons ago, Cala and Connolly are good enough too so there's no need buying for the sake of it.

Cala is the poorest defender of all of them in my opinion. Good on the ball but can't defend very well. Think he would be better in midfield.

No. We didn't get Connolly till Bristol City away, Noone was quite late as well. We've done most of our business relatively early but CB's are hard to come by

I agree with that.

He's like a poor man's David Luis! Good footballer, but not convincing as a CB (at least, on what I've seen so far for us).

I rate Cala. I think people judge him on the mare he had toward the end of the season. Palace or Hull I can't remember which one. Though everyone played poo in those games.

I would want us to move at least one of the other CBs for now and get a fresh face in. Though its not as vital as some make out for me. But to be completist about it, we can improve there and why not, if we're a club aiming to be in the Premier League again.

I'm not sure I want us to sign Fonte though if its much over what we have already bid. I don't think a club in our position should be buying a 30 year old CB for £4m+. Also until Southampton buy a few more players including a couple of CBs, his value will be at a premium to them for a couple of weeks. Move on... For now at least.
