RC Lens are lining up a move to take Cardiff defender Kevin Theophile-Catherine back to France.
The 24-year-old right-back joined the Bluebirds from Rennes last summer in a deal worth £2.1m and made 28 Premier League appearances.
But he could not prevent them from being relegated at the end of the season and now RC Lens, who were promoted to Ligue 1 last term, hope to tempt him back to France with the promise of top-flight football.
Before moving to south Wales, Theophile-Catherine, a France Under-21 international, had spent his whole career at Rennes.
And, according to L'Equipe, he will be offered the chance to return to his homeland by Lens, who are desperate to strenghten their backline in time for the new season.

I think he could do a job at the back for us
John/Hudson & Turner and the weak links in my eyes

Disagree with Declan John, I hope he's given plenty of game time this season.
He looked promising in a poor Cardiff team last term, cant wait to see what he can do at Championship level.

Have him! He's absolutely useless

Will never forget his mistake against sunderland that cost us 2 points !
useful to have but we wont be lost if he went

We can hope.

We can all hope he's useless

My personal pet peeve are full backs without the ball control to run with the ball in any other way than a straight line, so Theophile is the player in your squad I think the least of. I hope you sell him.

Take him, please!

Keep him, think he'll do well in the championship and we ain't exactly flush with fullbacks

How much is he on bet its a fair bit for a championship full back sitting on the bench?

Massive critic of his but he slotted in well as a CB against Everton. Unfortunately prone to errors, maybe a return back to France would be the world of good to him. We'd need to sign a CB before we let him go though.

Get rid of him and see if we can have Super Kev back. The grey one should never have been let go and is probably still our most reliable and consistent defender.

He's not just prone to errors, he's quick enough going forward but has virtually no end result.
Very poor crosser of the ball.
Would be pleased to see him go.

Everyone bangs on about his mistake against Sunderland which along with Kerslake's cock up cost us 3 points in reality. But strangely enough no one cares to mention Cala's even worse blunder against the same opposition. Can somebody explain, please?

KTC made many more errors than the Sunderland one to be fair.

People make mistakes, he's still developin too. His attacking will improve working under ole

RC Lens have been been promoted back to Ligue 1 and looks to tempt KTC back to France with the promise of top flight football!
What are your takes? I want him to stay he would do very well in the championship!

Wales Online at 4.15 today:
"After we reported earlier that French outfit Lens were in for Kevin Theophile-Catherine, sources close to Cardiff City have poured cold water on the idea.
With only John Brayford and Matt Connolly to compete with Theophile at right back, WalesOnline understands the Bluebirds are not currently in a position to sell."

I would much rather KTC to stay I think he is a really good player at his best and when he was performing well in the Prem he was great but was at fault for a few of the goals against Sunderland which you could say, sent us down.

Great player under Malky. Lost it under OGS.
OGS is less of a coach defensively, than Malky.
Fans are too deluded to see it.

It's pretty basic that's it's easier to defend with 11men behind the ball.
The test of a good player is when they are challenged, he failed and isn't very good at all.
I can't see anyone taking him off the wage bill.
