Gary Medel latest

The on-off saga of Gary Medel's transfer to Inter Milan seems to be coming clearer.

Today, forzaitalianfootball.com have published a feature on the Italian giants and how they are unwilling to spend much money this summer, as they will not play in the Champions League this year.

Their biggest deal has been taking out-of-contract centre back Nemanja Vidic from Manchester United on a free and the magazine says: "It may be next summer before Inter are ready to spend large sums of money on several individual players.

"Loan signings and free transfers may have to suffice until the club can get back into the Champions League."

This would explain why Inter were so keen to take Medel on an initial season-long loan but they claim a fee of around £8m might be close to being agreed.
